Persistence pays off! I'm glad you kept trying different baits and finally connected with your Easter steelhead! Some great footage from your previous trip as well - thanks for sharing! Tight lines! Captain Zac
Thank you for the great videos this season! One request, can you please create some videos on the off season that show how you setup your rig (shot and float), set the right depth, etc? Your jig tutorials are sweet and if you can create a steelhead float fishing for dummies video for me, I’d be grateful. Be well in the off season and no skunkin!
Happy belated Easter. No skunking for sure. Next weekend I'm going can't stand cabin fever. I watched and talked to a few locals. It's been a grind. Maybe after the heavy rain this week it will turn them on. Hopefully the creeks won't blow out. From our my way and your way
Always a great day when you and Mike can get out fishing. Times have changed and it’s harder to find time to make schedules meet but enjoy seeing you guys fish every chance you get. Season is winding down once Easter hits. It was a great season. Happy Easter to both of you and enjoy the family gathering.
While I can attest to understanding on feeling the year is over early this year with the very warm winter ny had, there will still be some fish to be had. More happy meals may be in the future, good luck.
Everything I’ve read is that we’re past peak for our spring run and that lot of fish have left, what I’ve seen kind of agrees with that, haven’t heard anyone at work or on the creeks saying more than a fish or 2 a day. It just feels way to early to be over already. If it is hopefully more bass start packing in the creeks to compensate until the good spring fishing really kicks in for bass.
its far from over😁 - should be decent numbers into mid may at least on the big creek - closer to the mouth you get a spring run of smaller 3lb fish that come into feed along with a few bigger drop backs .i hear its been very good on lower river but i cant hike any more 😒
Man nice fish fellas, been a real grind here in Michigan, weird year with the mild Temps infeel like the fish trickled in all winter and the big run isint coming ...i dont know but man your videos keep me going, don't help my closest steelhead waters are close to an hour away, we need more of that rain man, how far are you from your steelhead waters, you sure do crank some vids out, I've been watching your videos since I found an ice fishing perch video 10 or more years ago, and truth be told you were a big inspiration for me taking up steelheading about 5 years ago. I always thought we had the best steelie fishing here but man you got us beat this year bill you always are putting a whooping on the fish lol, need ya to come up and show us how it's done , fish on man.
Hell yeah!! 👊 finally got a brown yourself!! I think you and Mike got there at the 2nd spot just after we left, we had 10+ hookups on beads. Was and awesome day to be out there!! No skunkin’ indeed!
My last trip of the year was Wednesday. Hard time keeping them pinned but managed 5. Already ordered $90 in fly and jig materials for next year 😂. Good season, good video as always. Never seen anyone use worms around here
