Hey richard 👋 remember me, you commented on one of my music videos a couple years back. Im glad to see you carry Eastman Guitars. They are wonderful. I have fell in love with the AC222ce but i cant find them near me. Guitar shops dont carry them and financing online is out of the question. I did buy a Taylor 214ce, but in the future i plan to get a eastman instead.
Eastman acoustic guitars, to me, are the best of the best. Completely made and crafted by hand. Having, one of the best projections. Impeccable manufacturing quality. I own the Eastman AC222 CE Ovangkol and am considering getting its little sister the AC308 LTD, as well as its big 12-string sister the AC 330e-12. On the other hand, Eastman guitars have a rather thick neck, they are rather physical guitars for people with small hands like me. For this reason, they will not appeal to all hands
Yeah I can 100% relate to this mate. That's one of the reasons why I struggle with Faith guitars also. Beautiful guitars and sound, like an Eastman, but chunky necks and difficult for people with small hands like me. For that reason, I went for a Dowina. Thinner neck I find.
Really good demonstration. Recently purchased this exact guitar. I was intending to purchase an Eastman E3 OME but went for this Sunburst AC308CE after trying them both. Really liked the feel and sound of the guitar and after 4 weeks or so I know this was the right choice. The size is really comfortable as is the neck shape. As with the other Eastmans I have the cases are very good. Thanks for the demonstration Richard, shows the strengths of this guitar very well. In my view it is incredible outstanding value.
The only thing I'm not thrilled about on this guitar is the pup pre weighing down the bottom bout. Otherwise, it's exactly what I wanted. I broke 3 rules with this guitar: no cutaways; no electronics; and gloss finish. I'll be doing my Hendrix Unplugged set with it, though.
Stunning sunburst guitar and the sound is just as gorgeous. Looked out for you at the Guitar Show, but didn’t see you, Richard. Must pop over to the shop. Take care. Keep up the fantastic reviews.
I just sold my Dowina Cabernet in order to buy this exact same Eastman, should have it in about a week.... they're getting really hard to find now, I got lucky, I believe. Thanks for the great comparison to Dowina, it eases my mind in having made the change.
I love all the comments for background sake, but I wish you’d play those guitars back to back directly without talking. I think it would give more of a dramatic effect. Great info tho!!
Eastman guitars never disappoint. It is a year later and the prices continue to increase. Grab one before they jump to boutique prices, because that is what they are, boutique, hand-built and voiced.
Hello Richard - your passing comment about Eastman becoming ‘more mainstream’ was interesting! I cottoned on to Eastman a few years ago (E20SS, 330 12 string, E20P, Romeo etc) but I too feel they are becoming a bit more mainstream!? Every company needs to be successful of course but it’s a bit like having a ‘secret’ that more and more are becoming aware of!
You’re right I didn’t mention it. I think because I was doing it for Amy I didn’t think to discuss a feature that is obvious to see and she already knew about - but indeed I could / should have mentioned it as it’s the only guitar you can buy in cutaway form that has a slotted headstock and the only OM I believe too that bas slotted headstock - and yes - it costs more to produce. They are more tricky to change strings yes.
