Nice work Allison and Mike! Good to see the rain stopped. HFH 24 👏🏻 Great event I’m signed up and ready! Good to see there will be a variety of splitters there and that the work goes to a good cause! Sure does make ya feel good at the end of the day!! Take care👍🏻👍🏻
Great setup your table gave me an idea for my box store splitter. Mike the rain has never melted you before, you are like the rest of us it just spreads you around. Great video and have a great day.
Thanks for letting me use that beast this week!!! 20 faces cords of elm in 10 hours from that beast!! Sorry you’ll be getting it back with less paint on the box wedge lol!! Have fun on your trip!!!
Nice set up with that table sure beats bending over . We are going saterday to go play with some orange a blue . Good to see ya have some help in the wood yard mike .
@@KNLFirewood I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s big an has a 32 ft conveyor guess I will see when I get there . Figured if I had a chance to go play with an Easton made I best take him up on it an go play .
We’re planning on making the trip again. As always we won’t know until it gets closer with kids etc. but we’re looking forward to it and hoping for good weather to camp for the weekend.
Very impressive splitter. That has to increase production. I’ve been sick so my production has been nonexistent. I split like four rounds yesterday then I had to have a nap lol.
It’s not the throttle. It’s a pump adjustment. I’m in the process of finding the sweet spot between too fast and too dangerous. It will speed up over the next few videos.
One thing I see you could do to make it a bit easier. If you’re Chaf bin was a bit lower same height as your table it would be easier to sweep in the junk bits. Even if one side of the bladder was lower.
Hi Mike and Allison. Tell me what do you really think of the 7 way and the 24D. If you split that same wood with the Axis, would you have taken some of the smaller rounds and made bark less bundle wood? I guess what I’m asking how small of diameter wood can you get bark less bundle grade wood . I’m thinking 4 inch you split in half or quarter. Maybe 5 inch? Well I drove my truck down to Minneapolis to pick up my splitter in EauClaire. Told me , when we got back from our trip it will be done no problem . 10 days passed and was going to go pick the splitter up Yesterday Tuesday. Then I thought I better call first. I talked to Chris and I’m told that Honda can’t get the motors out yet. Chris is getting really frustrated. Al is ready to blow a gasket. Chris ordered a very large quantity of motors on Nov.1 /23. I guess if Andrew ran into this problem, I understand why he switched. I guess I’m glad I called first. Thanks for letting me vent. You guys looked great working together and I thought the wood coming out looked really nice sized too. Later my friend.
Honestly…my thoughts on the 24D and the 7 way box wedge? I love them both. The 7 way makes bigger pieces than I’m used to making on the Axis but they are still one handers. 4x4 probably?? I don’t think anyone would ever say “these are too big”. I may have made some barkless bundle wood out of some of the bigger rounds but if I’m going to progress to the next level I gotta start making lots of firewood. I love the Axis but it’s just not as fast. I still split with it and will continue to. It just makes a different finished product. Sorry about WR. I know you’re frustrated as I’m sure he is too.
Hi Drifter! There are some adjustments that can improve the cycle time. But some of that comes from the toughness of the wood too. I’ll be making the adjustments soon. We’ll talk about it in an upcoming video.
Is the throttle up to max ? Also if you sharpen the edge on the box splitter you’ll find it’s a totally different machine I did on my 22-28 and wow what a difference 🇺🇸
