Two things I ❤about this video...straight to the recipes. No long winded blah blah, blah And you cut open and share the final result, not just show it in the pan w/o cutting in. Keep it up. 💯 💯 💯
Use frozen peas and carrots instead of the canned veggies because it actually doesn’t overtake the chicken flavors. And use condensed Campbells Cream of Chicken as the gravy… it will blow your mind. Tastes like it’s 100 percent homemade!
@@truthinliving8082Chicken Pot Pie; I use frozen peas and carrots, not a lot because it can overwhelm the flavors. The “pop” from the freshest peas are wonderful! Frozen Pillsbury biscuits so you can control how many you want on top. But I sometimes use the cheapest canned biscuits because 😊the casserole is where the flavor comes from. Definitely no corn because it will also overwhelm the flavors. I prefer mashed potatoes on the side but you can microwave a couple of potatoes then dice after they are cooked and add to casserole if you looking for a one pot dinner.
Yall are the most boring, yet entertaining set of personalities and somehow it works! 😂I never watch stuff like this but i couldn't stop! Now ready to binge watch! Probably a weird compliment but eh😂
I've loved this since the first time I saw you two. Your recipes are inspiring to people like me who are in a budget.I understand some can't wrap their heads around the concept, however, the rest of us are genuinely frugal and born open minded and very smart! Thanks y'all!! 17:03
It depends on the level/degree to which they are processed. For example, I can't have any gluten because most grain is fortified with folic acid to be shelf stable. 40% of the population has the same gene mutation as me, and most have no idea that their bodies can't handle fortified grains bc the symptoms of ingesting it aren't always obvious or often times we blame them on other factors. It's not the same as being celiac. Long terms effects of eating fortified grains are pretty sad though. Look up MTHFR gene mutation. Doctors call it the "mother****er". One of the symptoms is frequent pregnancy loss/infertility, which I struggled with before eliminating gluten and switching to methylated multivitamins.
duh everything is already done except the biscuit batter cook until the biscuits are done. 350 degrees is always the basic temperature for anything that you are not certain about.
For those who prefer lower salt/sodium, use 1can of cream of chicken soup plus 1 equal amount of heavy whipping cream, add in 1/2 tsp low sodium chicken bouillon powder. It will cut the salt in half.
Is half the sodium mean instead of 500% of our daily intake it is now only 250%..? The sodium was my first thought too so it's good you are attempting to be mindful.
I can't believe I just found this video! Lol. I was just sitting here thinking of what I wanted to fix myself for supper tonight. I already have all of those ingredients on hand and I'm so glad you had made this video because this is what I will have for supper tonight!!! I cook all the time and I never ever thought of this! I love it when I come across new recipes like this one!!! Thank you so much for this video!!! GOD BLESS You and Your Family!🙏😇
Same! Only i was just thinking about that easy but delicious dish my late mama used to make for supper sometimes, (easy pot pie), & HERE IT IS!!!🎉☺️ Yayyy for us! Mom put blobs of "Bisquick" on top, same concept, its yummy!!😊
@@chrissykinney1126 girlfriend I'm going to have to try that with the Bisquick like you said!!! Thank you so much for that chip because I even have Bisquick on hand!!!! Lol. I have fixed biscuits with it before and pancakes. Never thought of using it in the way you said but I'm going to try it now! Lol. Thank you so much for that tip. God bless you and your family and stay safe.🙏😇
@@charlenemock333Girl you are so welcome!!😊 Funny thing is .. i was thinking of this dish, (from the good ol days), & hadn't searched it or nothing, opened youtube, & there it was,😳 & today is my late mama's birthday, more than a coincidence? I think so!!!🥺😊 I know she's always with me.😇 She put blops of bisquick on the top about the same size & distance apart as the lady in the video, she skipped the cheese, (she didn't want cheese in it), & It's very delicious, even without the cheese. I always have bisquick on hand, like you, so easy peasy! I can't wait to make it now!!! 😋 Enjoy! God bless, & stay safe, to you & your family as well!!!😊❤
Too much sodium. Just as quick and healthier-- boneless chicken thighs cut into small pieces and a bag of frozen peas and carrots in the casserole dish. Cook in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Add one or two cans of soup(healthy request cream of chickenand/or mushroom), one can of low or no salt chicken broth. Stir together and add topping (biscuits crescent rolls cut up, or a sheet of puff pastry. You can add a little cheese in the casserole or on top. Bake and enjoy.
Half way I had to gag! So gross, unbelievable! "is this organic butter?" "No, it's margarine". Bwehhh, how gross and unhealthy you wanna have it. Warming up processed food is not cooking.
I see it all comes out of a packet or a tin. But at our old age it's a huge help as we don't have any energy to stand and peel loads of potatoes n bla bla so a huge thank you. I've got to die of something ha ha and it will be done with a smile on my/our faces. Thank you for your time and great ideas. We eat less as were older so these portions can be frozen and they will last the week for two of us if we just divided them into our meal size n freez then every night will be something amazing. ❤❤❤ your just great thank you from some oldies in New Zealand. We're greatfull to you. ❤❤
These are great recipes for folks who want to eat home cooked meals versus fast food joints but don’t have the time for preparing meals from scratch. Older folks and students could try these and make changes according to their tastes and needs. I for instance will not use canned chicken. I consider that to be cat food. Boiling my own fresh chicken with the seasonings we enjoy works better for me. Even when I use a mix, such as when I bake an apple crisp casserole, I add ingredients to the mix and use fresh apples. The main thing is to simply try new things. If you know how to cook, most ideas will work because you already know what ingredients, seasonings and sweeteners blend well together. Even then, you will come up with a dud from time to time but that’s just part of the creative process. Just enjoy yourself and, when you come up with a winner, you’ll find that the pleasure of seeing satisfied looks on your family’s faces makes your efforts worthwhile.
Older folks are smarter than making something that's full of sodium. This would straight up raise their blood pressure and I would advise students not to waste their money on stuff like this. There are cheaper and more delicious options.
Everything looks really yummy but how in the world do you keep from weighing 300 lbs? LOL Cheese, butter, biscuits… But it all looks yummy and being disabled, I do need casseroles & 1 pot meals that I can put together while sitting & place in the oven. Thanks for sharing.
@charlesparksshow Please share oven temp and cooking time for the pot pie recipe! I want to make it today, but I don't want to undercook it OR undercook it. The cowboy casserole is next on my list! Thank you!
AWESOME! I'll Get Alot of Dinner's out of these AMAZING Recipes 👏 That Casserole with the Mashed Taters in the bottom Reminds me of my favorite bowl at KFC, It' has Everything in it 😋 like the Casserole ya'll made 😀 Thank ya'll!
I do the same thing. It takes only one time not doing that and it’s either the flimsy pan buckled on you and you either get burned or it all goes onto the floor. 🤔😳
You can also spray a little bit of oil on each side of the eggroll wrapper before you put then in the airfryer and it'll look more like an egg roll deep fried without too much extra oil in it. They are delicious! I make grilled cheese sandwiches with eggroll wrappers that way. They turn out great! The little extra oil also gives a little more browning to the wrapper. Good job! I tried the reuben recipe and it was delicious!!
Oh my gosh! That is PERFECT for dinner tonight! I was trying to think of something to fix, but wasn't having any luck. Then bam! I saw this. Lol. Thanks for sharing. 💕
Everybody's so creative! And y'all know why we add cheese. Cuz it ain't gonna slide down easy if it ain't cheesy! For real, though, these are a lot easier than what I make, actually cooking all the ingredients and making the gravy from the drippings and whatnot. These seem good when you're in a hurry, though.
@@cheriedaniels7965 I didn't make the video. You don't owe me an apology. Although the millions of hungry and starving people in the world would literally beg to differ with your opinion.
@@cheriedaniels7965 may you have to learn what it's like to not know when your next meal will be. For whatsoever one does to the very least of God's children, they did the same thing to God.
I've made one of these dinners so far, which was the corn, peas, n chicken. I hate corn, so I substituted with carrots. The recipe was so friggin' good, except the underside of the biscuits did not cook all the way and was still doughy. I've modified the recipe and absolutely love it! Can't wait to try the other recipes!!! 🍽😄👍
You don't seem to mix the ingredients very well you leave big clumps of ingredients instead of evenly distributing them throughout the pan. I appreciate the recipes and will try them. But as someone who has been cooking for almost 50 years mixing properly is a pet peeve.
I’ve noticed that too, on most of the cooking and baking channels these days. They’re all trying to “create rapid content” to fit these fast paced media platforms, so everything just gets tossed in a bowl at once! 😂 Normal time honored cooking and baking methods (for example; mixing dry ingredients together well, and wet ingredients together, _then_ combine according to recipe) seemed to have been tossed out the window! 😂
In all these recipes would you use frozen veggies? I didn’t know they’re lower in sodium. Does that go for any frozen veggies, what about canned veggies, are they low in sodium? Thank you!
I can not eat 90% of the ingredients you used. Other than frozen vegetables, all my ingredients are fresh. No canned soups or veggies, no canned meats, no deli meats, (nitrates) etc. And l never use bags of shredded cheese because of the fillers. By meal planning for a month at a time and careful shopping (often in bulk except for fresh veggies) l spend less than when l used to eat the canned, prepped ingredients! The difference using fresh has made in my health is amazing. It has been so many years since l made the diet change that if l eat otherwise, it makes me nauseous and gives me migraines. But your hard work and sharing are appreciated.
It's a channel of people who can't cook who are trying to have a cooking show. BUT... to each his own cuz there alot of people who will like eating this way.
All those meals looks disgusting. And you should know when you bake dishes you're supposed to cover it with foil to cook the inside and then remove the foil for the top to brown. Also have you guys heard of seasoning. Anyways 1 dish meals are for people that either don't like to cook or don't know how to cook....ijs
Cowboy casserole I would add small diced squash or pumpkin and another box cornbread on top to make 3 sisters casserole. The 3 sisters are beans corn squash always planted together in gardens for nitrogen balance in soil.
There's some good ideas here. I feel like these are a good start for some tasty easy meals. I would change around some of the ingredients and add some things. But, I definitely want to try these. These are family and budget-friendly meals.
The best sauerkraut is at Aldi s it’s in the can section but comes in a glass jar it’s so good you can eat it cold out of the jar that would be amazing in those egg rolls yummy may have to go get me some ❤
The KFC bowl dish @2:25 - do you heat up the bob Evans mashed potatoes in the microwave first before putting in the casserole dish or no? Gosh this looks good. I'm gonna make this for my son. He loves these at KFC. I know it's not the exact same thing but close enough. 🤤
