I've met a similar problem myself, I would recommend to import everything else into the file with node texture. I will share here if I find out a better solution :)

Hi! It's simply the editing mistake at 9:05, no worries, it doesn't really affect the further process! All that you need to do in the UV Editor in Maya it's to separate the Iris zone from the rest of the eyeball, and then make a cut along the eyeball just to be able to unfold the UV shell nicely later on:)
