Almost didn't post because I thought the "shadowboxing" clip was a bit too goofy - even for me. I've gotten a lot of "how to warm up?" questions since the release of the routine. This is just my usual answer in video format.
im trying to get back into some type of workout routine after a little over 5yrs of REALLY not taking care of myself. ive lost a lot of flexibility and wondered if you have any stretching tips. thanks for everything you do. i love how encouraging you are.
Besides the jumping jacks, I would also add in 30 seconds each of arm crosses, arm circles, hip circles (SO important to warm up the core), knee circles (like a downhill skier) and neck rolls (break up all that gravel in your neck and shoulders). Old school, but effective! Way less chance of injury as a result 👍
@@adagatiyascullawl3458 Well, think about how you feel when your body has been at rest, and your joints and muscles haven't moved much. In that state, you don't have much range of motion, and everything is a little stiff. If you suddenly picked up something very heavy in that state, you could likely hurt yourself, and damage your low back. Compare that to how you feel when you are all warmed up, capable of greater flexibility and exertion. Doing dynamic stretches before a workout (not static stretches-- save those for after the workout when your body is really warm and flexible) is vital for avoiding injury, but also for better performance all around. The core is the center of your whole body, literally, so you want to activate it properly, before you engage it intensely. This is why a lot of good workouts start with planks or pushups. Hope that helps.
Just got my first email Hampton re the new fitness program/website - thank you. Love it! We're quickly decending into a cold n dreary winter so your beautiful warm outlook is going to be much appreciated in the coming months. You Sir rock! 😁🙏💙🦘
@Blu Dew 🤣 I'm in the south which is very, very cold n snowy in the mountains but our top end + FNQ is quite warm n tropical in comparison all year round - they pretty much just have two seasons, wet + dry. Lucky buggars but they do have to deal with cane toads n crocs so I'ma take the cold n wear extra layers. LOL! 😆👍
Thanks for all the videos. Today I hit a new record of 19 pushups and I started from 7 few months ago. This is the first time in my adult life I have been able to hit that number and it's all thanks to your videos that keep me going further in my fitness journey.
Hampton you're a beautiful human being and the work you do is very admirable. Make sure to have a good balance! Would be nice to get more coffee with Hampton or off brand content too
I ain't ever seen someone suggest wall pushups in my life but I gotta say for me, it was key in making it feel at all possible to make progress. Thank you
Dude, I swear...I have a kind of abrasive personality since I'm kinda sarcastic in the way I speak. I don't do it intentionally, I just speak this way...then I found your channel and I always think to myself "Hm...how would Hampton answer?" and I found myself being a bit more likeable 😂
Hello there! I just want to thank you for all the motivation, honesty and joy you bring to us. I really enjoy your videos. I had trouble to stick to a routine and a healthy diet since most fitness videos expect you to be fit already. But this is not the case for a lot of people. Sometimes I wasn’t even able to follow the exercises at all since they were just too hard for me. So I became sad and thought I’ll never make it and of course I gave up quickly. But now with your exercises and the different variations I finally begin to have fun while absolving them and it makes it easy for me to stick to my routine. You said it’s a progress and we all have to start somewhere. So one might starts on a higher level and another one starts on a lower level and it’s absolutely ok. :-) That made me happy. Finally someone who understands us. I already lost weight. My back pain is gone and I’m fit for the day. Also I changed my eating habits. It’s so easy to eat healthy. I finally love to go outside and just walk around. It’s almost a wonder since I was more or less numb and unable to enjoy things or being active at all for years. I was never fat but still weak and a little overweight. I enjoy the progress and the positive feelings I earn from this. Again, thank you so much. I wish all the people here a happy life and being able to reach their personal goals.
I'm so happy to have found your website you have given me hope to try this routine and get better at pushups I'am 60yrs old and out of shape so thank you for what your doing blessings to you and thanks again 🙏
Amazing advice and it actually works to the correct research for warming up, before workout should be light quick warmup not long stretches which can increase chance of injury or long warmups that tire you out. Amazing channel man
Perfect! I love shadow boxing too! I'd like to imagine getting robbed, getting worked up and going all out into a full cardio of punching and kicking air.
Its so hard to figure out how to do warmups as a beginner cause you'll google warmups and all the results will be routines with the same intensity or higher as your main workout 😂😭
Thank you for doing this I was doing the jumping jacks/stretches before but was wondering what else I can do will definitely try the incline push ups and stuff.
I personally prefer short videos like this, With #shorts, I can't skip to the time I want and ended up watching them a lot of times, such a waste. Thank you Hampton, have a beautiful day my friend
Yo i have a question, my knees hurt whenever I run or go down the stairs, i think it's probably cuz my thighs are weak as i did nothing these past 2 years. Can you tell me some excercises to strengthen my thighs and fix this knee problem
