This video helped me clear 13 (related) codes on my buddies '10 Audi A4 Quattro wagon, saving him hundreds of dollars. All I did was replace the spark plugs, the #3 ignition coil, and the PCV cap like the one in this video. Thanks again for making this video and for taking to the time to explain in simplistic terms.
I just got this code on my 2014 allroad. I found a tear in the PVC diaphragm as you predicted, replaced it with the Dorman part and all is well now. Total cost was less than $40, and it only took me about 10 minutes. Thank you Naptown Tuner!
Wow I had no idea you could just replace the diaphragm? I just spent $200 on the assembly the xxxx AK version .. wish I’d have seen this a month ago..LOL. Nice fix
Next door in Ohio. While removing the lower timing cover on my 2013 audi allroad 2.0 tfsi went to retrieve that teflon spacer to place in front of crankshaft bolt the main chain shifted. I was reinstalling bolt and spacer when I noticed. Placed two zip ties on cam to prevent more movement. Am I screwed? Much appreciated.
Completely unrelated question but how much do you know about the turbo on a 2006 a4 avant, its the 2.0tfsi sline quattro special edition 220hp 163nm bul engine? I bought the turbo muffler delete and I can't fit it as there are no bolts on the original ko3 it's a sealed unit. My question is, are they all bolted on is it stock or has someone changed it?
Thank you, got this code today. A number of weeks ago I replaced a faulty seal on hpfp, replaced the cam follower. Had to move a couple of pipes / maybe breathing pipes. Possible issue? It's night time here, I'll have to inspect in the morning.
hey man i live in indy have a question for you. i have and audi a4 07 2.0 fsi and i have the EPC ligth on just happen recently , can you comment on what can possible fix my issue what parts need to be replace ,it will be awesome that you comment. awesome thanks i wacth almost all your videos i have learn so much but i need help.
I replaced my PCV module with OE and it is running good. The check engine light is still on, do I need to reset it? Wondering if it actually fixed the issue since the light remains after the repair.
Thx! What if I can take the oil cap off? It’s not the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, correct? I’m getting all sorts of error codes including the P1287 -System too lean at idle.
It’s a cheap fix, just replace it. Worse come to worse you won’t have to worry about the rear seal. Next if pvc replacement doesn’t work, clean or replace MAF sensor. Then after it’s the fuel injectors and intake manifold, those are expensive.
Hey Naptown got an issue with my b8. Once the car reaches operating temp. and i come to a full stop at a light my rpm will very very slightly fluctuate a few times above the usual 750 idle rpm and then stay where they should be. Any idea what could be causing this? Throttle body? MAF sensor? Ive already changed the pvc valve but have yet to change the pcv hoses. If it should be false air, where should i begin to check ? Mind you, no CEL or anything.
I replaced the whole PCV/Oil separator assembly on my 2012 A5, but the code is still showing up. What’s the next most likely issue? Intake gaskets, bad O2 sensor, bad MAF? I’ve driven it quite a bit with the new PCV so I would have assumed the code would go away after the ECM ran through all the checks and the issue was resolved. Just today, I manually deleted the code with my code reader, so we’ll see if it comes back 🤞🏻 Oh! I’ve also got a bad wastegate so I’m getting the p0299 code as well. Could the p2187 also be caused by the turbo issue? Just wondering if I should fix that and see if it clears up both issues. Thanks again for all the really helpful videos. I’ve been a GM guy my whole life so this German car is a new experience
@@tubbycustard8866 good luck. I just ended up trading it in for a new Tesla Model 3 Performance. The Audi had almost 200k on it and I didn’t want to spend thousands on replacing the turbo just to have the transmission go out so I threw in the towel on it. They gave me $2,800 for it. It was the safe move…
I had my 2012 Q5 2.0t oil separator replaced and the check engine P2187 code keeps popping up. Any suggestions on what else could be causing the issue?
Changed the pcv diverter cap still have to lean at idle bank one and have some air intake leaks I reset the codes they are off while driving them come back after I start it up the next time any suggestions
I know it’s been two months but hopefully this will help someone else, if not you. Go to “Rockauto.com” and just type in the part number he says at the beginning or look up 2010 VW cc 2.0 turbo and go to engine and look for PCV diaphragm. Or go to Google and type in DORMAN and the part number he says at the beginning. That should do it.
I'd like to know too. I'm guessing it's a potential solution. There are other factors that can cause it too. But knowing the PCV is a common problem, it may be worth it to just throw a new part at it, just in case. Can also check out NT's post on testing the whole PCV module where he blows/sucks on it checking the valves.
@@G60Guy I fix my p2177 code. My P2177 also cause multiple misfires. I replaced coils and plugs, the same, I test my vacuum from the pcv the same so it’s good. I clean my MAF sensor with MAF cleaner and that fix it. So in conclusion, I think that p2177 is more related to MAF and the p2187 is more related to the pcv. Changing the pcv is also a good idea, I’ll probably do it in next oil change since it’s only like $60 on ecs. Hope this helps.
@@NaptownTuner Update to my P2187 issue. Got my 2011 2.0T 10 months ago and had only been running 98 RON fuel in it. I switched to 95 Fuel late last week and the system has now ceased the P2187 error. 😁
Just got 2187 and 2279 while flushing coolant and replacing pcv box Had a local shop do a smoke test they found no leaks, High and low pressures are correct, pcv is good, maf is good, system can correct itself, but consistsntly runningat 40% adaptive, happening to all cylinders evenly, all injectors seem ok Dont know whats causing
