Thank for this I think I prefer this method better I’m going to whip these for my mum she has lost her hair to cancer and keep her warm these be ideal for her thank you x
Thank you for making this video. I made one today...my first project on my new 32 needle machine. I had trouble with snagging on my first join when I tried to cinch it up, so I undid all of my joining and started over. The second time I was able to cinch the ends together more evenly. It's a perfect fit and I'm very pleased with it!
Thank you so much I have just got a machine so this and the cast in and off has been so helpful as I have not been able to find many beginner ones I will look at your others too . I really hope that you make many more for these machines as would be great and so helpful . I just don’t know where to go or look for tutorial like this so maybe if you can do a series of patterns would be amazing many thanks ❤❤
I like the idea of this method so much better than the way I’ve been cinching mine, which feels somewhat bulky at the cinch. This doesn’t appear to be bulky there at all. I’m anxious to try it, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I had a tube completely done yesterday and the waste yarn popped out of the feeder slot and my whole work was wasted. I tried to save it but lost my stitches too fast. Can't wait to try this method!!
My machine arrived yesterday so I searched for a video to help me. This is so easy to follow. I'm using the yarn that came with the machine. Can't wait to see if it turns out okay. x
Love this! Looks like something I may be able to do soon. Just got my Addi and only 1 hat completed so far. Loving it though! I love that no crochet is needed. I’m not good at that.
I have a question, why only 43 rows with Color A but 86 rows with Color B? Both halves look the same when laid out flat. I’m trying this tomorrow. I like the idea of no waste yarn. Love your videos.
Another fab video :)). I know knitting machines get on with certian typres of yarn. What works for one doesnt always work for another. What is your favourite go-to yarn?
I haven't found too many yarns that my machine hates, but my go-to plain yarn is definitely Paintbox Aran yarn. I wish it wasn't a Lovecrafts own brand so I could stock it myself(!) For Variegated yarns I love the Sirdar Jewelspun and the Red Heart Stripes (I know lots of people struggle with this yarn but I have minimal issues) Hope this helps! Laurelin :-)
what size knitting machine are you using and what size head will this fit kids, adult? and if I use a bigger machine then yours will it make it bigger on the head because I'm looking to make 1 for a child and 1 for me an adult, thank you for this tutorial
The size of the machine defines the width of the headband, to make it smaller or bigger you adjust the tube length. This tutorial is for an adults headband, for a child you would work less rows. I’m using a 40pin machine
Thank you, it’s always nice to have different ways and looks. I always have to do 55 each color for it to fit adult head. I don’t know why. My yarn tension is loose. When I use knitting needles you tend to have to go higher also. Maybe my machine knows this. Lol I can’t explain it. I’m trying different yarns to see but so far still the same. Any suggestions? I have 46 pin Addi n hv had it a week now.
Everyone’s individual tension is different, so their row count will be too. If 55 rows per colour is where you need to be then embrace it and have fun making those headbands! 😀
Sure, although you could do my faux brim beanie and just work 40 rows of colour, 28 rows of brim, and then another 48 of another colour. That would make it reversible :)
What would be the best yarn for the sentro 48 needles.. I’m having so much trouble with dropped stitches no matter the tension.. so many things I want to do and I feel lost…
Where in the world are you based? I like to use Paintbox Aran weight yarn, it’s a soft yarn and glides through my machine. I did find though that practice really does make perfect, I had stopped stitches when I first started and I think it was tension related as I learnt to use my machine.
