guide for myself :DD 1:37 - row 1 and magic circle (at the end you should have 12 double crochets) 2:31 - row 2 3:42 - row 3 (at the end: 36 double crochets in total) 5:24 - row 4 7:02 - ear holes and row 5 (38 in total for that row) 10:50 - row 6 (note: croceht right through the ear holes, not thru the loops) (total: 48 double crochet 13:49 - row 7

It's NOT abuse! My goodness, you'd never do that, and neither would I. I've had cats all my life, and I'm 60 as of July 5, and though the cat may not like to wear the hat, it won't hurt him/her. My cat wears a coat in Winter willingly. Anyway, I love this, and I'm going to try it for my cat. I don't know if he'll wear it, either, but if he equates it with going "bye-bye", he'll do anything, especially if I give him "cookies" (treats) for doing it, lol. Thanks for the tutorial Crystal; I'll be doing this one very soon! :) It's so cute! Oh, and Robert is a very handsome cat!

Great comment, people can be so judgemental when they are ill informed. Our kitty has her winter pyjamas (a coat) she comes when we call and say pyjama time, steps forward into the front leg holes herself and then lays down to have it fastened at the back of her neck. Cats would never wear or even pretend to tolerate anything that offends their delicate sensibilities! Granted some cats will rebel but those that don't are most definitely not being abused. I'm absolutely presenting this item to her majesty Xena kitty for her approval! Who knows if she'll wear it but I love it and it's well worth a go! Many thanks crystal for another brilliantly creative tutorial x

Oh my goodness, i love this video .I crochet and im only 11 , this tutorial was really simple to follow along with. My cat doesn’t really like hats but it was fun to make. I’m going to ask my dad if he can take me to spotlight for me to get more yarn . I love this video I’ve been trying to find an easy video to follow along with and as soon as i found this video i was so excited and happy to try it . 😊

Crystal thank you for this tutorial. I’m making this for one of my cats that has had brain cancerous tumors in his ear canal, under went treatment and he responded well, and now is back in the same area we’re the surgery took place and has being scratching, so I’m making him a hat so he doesn’t have to wear a cone as he hate it and that way he will be more comfortable in his last days. So again thank you for this pattern.

♥️♥️♥️♥️. Oh Crystal!! I'm so glad I found this. I'm going to make several of these for my friend that works at a rescue shelter. She takes photos of the dogs and cats and posts them on the Shelter website with a story about each one. The hats will be a special touch....not to mention funny!! I love this idea!! So cute! My mom, many years ago, crocheted a little hat with ear coverings for our cat, Tammy, coz when she came in from the cold, she shook her ears and batted at them from the cold. Tammy gladly wore it. It tied under her chin, so cute! My mom just made up the pattern herself, something I can never do.

Thank you!! I made my dog a crochet hat, she is a big girl so just added extra lines and measure it on her head before doing the ear holes. Then added a pom pom 🤗 Also made dog hats for family members to give away for Christmas! 🎄🎄🎁🎁

Soooo i made it in a black and gold shiny yarn and it turned out soooo cute. At first i thought it was going too fast but if you keep rewatching it slowly back n forth its actually worth it in the end. TAKE YOUR TIME. Listen to the numbers and voila. Youll have a cutw tiny hat! ❤💜💙 great video btw.

Would an aviator cat hat design (with goggles 😺 of course) be a possibility in the future? I love how easy it is to follow the instructions you give in your tutorials, and how clearly you demonstrate the stitches and where to place them, and so on...! I would love to make one for my Grand-kitten (and -if able to be adjusted for dogs - for my parents pups).

Finally!!! Not a tutorial with a ridiculous amount of slip stitches for the ear holes! I just tried to make a hat for my tabby cat and the ear holes were close to the size of his head because the pattern said 20 slips 💀
