Easy Crochet Baby Hat - Parker Newborn Beanie 

I love the hat pattern so much❤️ My son is 3 weeks old and in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant right now. Hats are the only thing he can wear and I love that I was able to make him a hat following this pattern 🥰

This makes me so happy. When my oldest daughter was born, someone donated lots of hats to the hospital just like this one.

Thank you very much! I quickly made one in white and gave it a mint green trim. I didn't use your end rows with front post but turned the hat inside out and made spiral rows of sc. It gives a very pretty kind of ribbing. I used the left over string of green to make the teeniest pompom. So cute. Great pattern !

Thank you for the free pattern. I made a couple of them for the Shaken Baby Project. I actually made 10 hats for the Project but only 2 by this pattern. Works up quickly and easily. The ones having trouble with row 9 could benefit by watching your tutorial.

I started today on making hats by the Parker pattern and I love it. It is very quick and easy. I heard doing them in purple for hospitals to give to mothers to help remind them not to shake babies.

Very cute hat! I'm a knitter and recently started making hats for hospital donations but the knitted hats take a lot longer to knit. I can crochet them much faster, thanks for your tutorial. Please add the stitch counts at the ends of the rounds to make it more clear.

I hadn't crocheted since I was a tween, but being stuck at home I got the urge to relearn. I started with a quick potholder to get some practice and then I was able to just jump right into this. Amazing tutorial and so easy to follow!

I’m making this hat right now and needed to learn the FpDC. As a beginner I have to say this is a great hat for my first attempt. I DO have A QUESTION tho… in pattern you say “DC in first”, is that actually IN THE SAME STITCH as the chain 2 or next after that? Also, row 8, “DC in first”. Am I counting my chain 2 as that?! Or actually creating DC in chain 2 spot ?!?

Your instruction is very helpful. If your hook and yarn were closer to camera it would be easier to see. I like your pattern for this baby hat. Nice and easy.

1st row: 1 double crochet all around 11 times 2nd: 2 double crochet all around 3rd 2 double crochet, then 1 double crochet, then 2.. 4th: 2 double crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet.. 2112 5th: 1 double crochet then keep going till u have the length u want

I have had the worst time making.....errr...attempting to make baby hats, I get lost somewhere and they end up fitting ME! I am trying this tonight.....you make it look so easy...thank you! Anything else for beginners for babies would be greatly appreciated!

I hope you answer quickly as I need the answer so I can mail the package. The blanket (one big granny square with a shell stitch border) and slippers for new borns are done in Bernat #5 chunky and really it is chenille just the slightest bit thicker than a #4 worsted. I need to know if I have to change my hook size as I want this for a newborn girl due Mar.5th. Thank you so much. Carolyn Dennis

I know this video is an old one, but it’s so pleasant to watch and follow, however when I follow the instructions my hat does not finish like yours, it’s not round and would not sit on a baby’s head properly lol! it’s more like a stretched out semi circle, where could I be going wrong? (I’ve followed yarn & needle recommendations and got the same amount of stitches as you on each round) Xx

When doing the front posts I don’t understand. I have 44 stitches, and if you do the pattern front post then regular, you’d end on a regular double crochet. Am I doing something wrong or do you drop a stitch somewhere?
