How to crochet a STRIPED BEANIE! In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to create a a very quick and easy crocheted beanie! This beanie would make an excellent gift, and is easily adapted to fit most head sizes!

Striped Beanie Crochet Pattern
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight (I am using Cascade Yarns (Wool))
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Attach Color A yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 2 and place 12 DC inside MC. SL st in 1st DC to join (12 total DC st).
Row 2: CH 2, place 2 DC in each st in the row, including current st where you have already placed the SL st. At the end of the row, skip the SL st and CH 2, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC st to join (24 total DC st).

Row 3: CH 2. Starting in the current st, place 1 DC, then place 2 DC in the following st. Alternate between 1 and 2 DC st around the row. Skip the SL st and CH 2 at the end of the row, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC to join (36 total DC).
Row 4: CH 2. Starting in the current st, place 1 DC, then place 1 DC in the following st and 2 DC in the 3rd st. *1 DC in the next 2 st, then 2 DC in the 3rd st.* Repeat ** around the row. Skip the SL st and CH 2 at the end of the row, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC to join (48 total DC).

Row 5: CH 2. Starting in the current st, place 1 DC, then place 1 DC in the following 2 st and 2 DC in the 4th st. *1 DC in the next 3 st, then 2 DC in the 4th st.* Repeat ** around the row. Skip the SL st and CH 2 at the end of the row, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC to join (60 total DC).
Row 6: CH 2. Starting in the current st, place 1 DC, then place 1 DC in the following 3 st and 2 DC in the 5th st. *1 DC in the next 4 st, then 2 DC in the 5th st.* Repeat ** around the row. Skip the SL st and CH 2 at the end of the row, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC to join (72 total DC).
Row 7: CH 2. Starting in the current st, place 1 DC in each st in the row. Skip the SL st and CH 2 at the end of the row, and place 1 SL st in the 1st DC to join (72 total DC).
Row 8: Repeat Row 7.

Rows 9 - 18: Repeat Rows 7 & 8, alternating colors every two rows.
Cut and tie off yarn strands and hide tails on the inside of the beanie.
