Nathalie, I am a beginner crocheter only learning this past July. I've made scarfs and throws and am ready to advance to something new. Thanks for your comment.
I know this is was done 1 year and 15 days ago; but I love it and it worked up very quickly! You are a very good instructor! Please continue to give us MORE projects! I've been crocheting now for a year and it has been very therapeutic for me since the lost of my husband! Once again...Great Teacher and thxs!
This is such a fantastic video...thanks SO much! I've done a lot of crocheting, but I was looking for a fast, easy way to use up excess yarn. I found this last year and over the summer I made about 60 hats with yarn balls I had left. I brought a bunch to the Veteran's closet and also a pile went to our local shelter. Both places raved to get so many nice/warm hats for winter. I'll continue to do many more this summer for next winter. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for an easy tutorial on how to make this hat. Others I have tried and the information was not right, very hard to follow and I was about ready to give up. I need to make hats for my husband as he has cancer and has lost his hair. Winter coming on and he is even cold in the house. I keep it warm in here but he is cold most of the time. Thank you again it is much appreciated.
A friend of my had requested a couple of messy bun beanies, and I felt bad because her hubby loves my crochet/knitting skills and I came across this and thought it would be perfect in the color for him that I made hers in. So glad to see you back, and thanks for a wonderful pattern!
forgot to comment, but I used your pattern to make this hat for my boyfriend and he loved it! I think it's his favorite thing I've ever given him. Thank you so much for the easy video to follow along with!
You did a very good job of telling and showing exactly what to do. I crocheted along with you and my results were almost as good as yours. I had a hard time at the ends, when I turned and went the other way. I think I didn't recognize a stitch and my beanie began to get narrower. I was able to increase the 4 stitches with no noticeable problem. Gonna check out more of your videos. Thanks!
So easy, thank you! I alternated single and double crochets to give it a little different look and it came out great! Closing off was the hardest part, and even then once you remember that it doesn't need to be perfect, everything worked out great!!! Thank you for a wonderful tutorial!
Thank you.. never made a hat before and this was brilliant. Have been crocheting a year but still class as beginner and this actually looks like I brought it.. is gorgeous.. 😁😁 I used a chunky yarn and a 6.5 hook and my husband didn't believe I made it lol... Will be making loads more..
just made this hat in 10ply Arcylic he loves it. It was so easy and quick thankyou so much. Its winter here and our grand daughter ( Eve 8yrs old) lost poppy's hat. So no worries now his head will be nice and toasty. thanks again brilliant pattern
Thank you so much for this pattern! I had been trying for several months to crochet a beanie but never could get it to come out right. This was so easy! I highly recommend for anyone who is just learning to crochet.
Yes I made it..my first hat for my husband.. have been making blankets, doilies n shawls past 2years.. Thank you so much for your tutorial..loved it..😍😍😍
I just started crocheting and your instructions were so easy to understand and follow. I just finished my first hat and it looks amazing. Thanks for the time and effort you put into this!
I usually only knit but I’m learning crochet, because I can only knit scarves. I made about 3/4 of a hat but it became too small, so I’m starting a new one with a different type of yarn. Hopefully this will turn out okay so I can send it to my aunt who is losing her hair due to chemo right now. I will update my comment if all goes well…thank you for this awesome tutorial I’m starting the hat tonight!
I love this tutorial! It was so easy to follow, currently working on this hat for a male friend and his son so that they have matching ones, so thank you so much for making this easy to follow video! I love your work also!
Thank you so much for this! I've been crocheting for about 18 years now using what my mom taught me as "the afghan stitch" and have tried to do some other things through trial and error but have been too intimidated/confused/disappointed to patterns. I've made some embarrassing hats and given up on that, which is fine because I primarily make blankets and LOVE it, but I'm very excited about this. You made the single crochet and ribbing techniques so easy to understand and I'm so encouraged by how it's coming along I just wanted to leave you a comment real quick so you would know. I'm making my partner a hat for her birthday (we live in Michigan) in October and I'm so excited! It looks like she's gonna be getting more than one, and I'll be making myself some too! This hat looks so so good and it's the style I've always wanted (but can't really find in stores?) and I'm so happy. Thank you so much, you're very good at this.
I just found your video. Thank you so much! I was looking for a simple hat pattern for my husband. This was absolutely perfect. I need to work on closing the top a bit more neatly, but I added a pom pom and it looks great. I appreciate your easy-to-follow instructions.
This was a terrific terrific tutorial! Just finished my first one & it turned out to be AMAZING! Highly recommend it for anyone who is a beginner and aspires to make a hat! I have made my first one for a special friend and am stoked all thanks to your tutorial! Many thanks for doing this and helping so many beginners take another step in their crochet journey! Cheers!
I'm a Complete beginner... 😊 This is a great tutorial and thank you for posting it. For UK beginners; The single crochet stitch {US} is a UK Double crochet stitch....! A UK single crochet stitch is also referred to as a slip stitch... Hope that's not confusing... The wool used is equivalent to 'Aran' wool {UK} Great video, great beanie... Thank you
Your tutorial was easy to follow. I made two for family members. I'm getting ready for Christmas. Both came out lovely. Thank you for a great tutorial.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’m new to crocheting and your beanie instructions were so easy to follow. I’ve made 2 beanies for my son and now my daughter wants one too :)
I love your tutorial, it's detailed, simple and beginner friendly! Would recommend everyone to try it. Just want to say thank you for taking your time to make this video.
Thank You! Tutorial has been what I’ve been trying to make, but couldn’t fully understand, for months now. Granted, I don’t get to crochet as much as I’d like right now. You have an awesome way of explaining things in such a practical and understanding way, and the work looked GREAT at the end!
my goodness, I hope you are feeling better! it was a shock to hear you have been ill. Thank you for all you do. When I first tried crochet, it was you I turned to. I consider my self an intermediate crocheter now, and it is thanks to you xo
I love this pattern! I just finished the hat to go with a sweater I made for my husband's Christmas gift. I can't wait to make one for myself, well done. I just wish you had a written pattern.
Thanks so much. I’m making this now. I’ve just started crocheting in the last 6 months and get so frustrated and give up. I find you easy to follow so far!!
Thanks Ms. Yolie for this easy and simple ribbed hat. As an avid crafter, I have been making hats for friends, family, and anyone interested in them, and this video is just what I needed. I like how you simplify the instructions, as opposed to other's videos that leave me dazed. I have subscribed to your channel and plan to check out more of your creations. Thanks ever so much.
I'm about to finish my 1st one. I had to make it a little longer b.c of differences in yarn, but this was very easy to follow! Can't wait to sew the top together & try it on😊
Thank you so much the instructions were very clear the process was super easy, completed it in a few hours and it turned out great. My brother loves it
Simple, classic style! Almost retro, looking forward to making one with fall colors like brown, gold, and maroon. I think it would look great with a Pom Pom! Thank you for filming, and sharing this! You're my inspiration!
Wanted to try a craft, thought i would give this a go as it looks ok that even i could manage it, cant wait to start. You explain it so well its best video ive seen for a first timer like myself xx
THANK YOU!!! I have been trying to find easy hats and this was perfect for a beginner such as myself. This has given me the confidence to know that I can easily make hats and not have to worry about making rings, counting rows, or simply going insane and taking the fun out of crocheting for me! I even subscribed to you now!!!
Thank you!! Great video, wonderful tutorial! This worked out beautifully! My husband asked for this type of hat for Christmas, and I am so excited, can't wait to give it to him!
Thanks! I have been making scarves with my extra yarn (from afghans) to send to our Veterans' centers to make sure they have some warm items for winter. But I wanted to learn how to make some hats, too. So thanks so much for this video. Now I can make scarves and matching hats to send. ;-)
Thank you so much for this! I typically only do amigurumi but needed a gift for my dad. This was super simple! Love the way it looks and now all my family have requested one! Thanks!
You had me... right up to when you tagged the comment "Remember always....". It happens every time I encounter a "believer" who just can't keep their fantasies to themselves... my heart sinks and I just turn off. I can't help it.. it's an automatic reaction to learning I've met yet another "follower" instead of a "leader." It means there's nothing to learn here... you've heard it all before. So disappointing.
We're all entitled to our own beliefs and opinions. Luckily, there are plenty of other channels to choose from. Just as you have the right to express your beliefs I have the right to express mine. Good luck
Thank you for the video. I'm still a beginner trying to learn the crochet lingo and this video was so easy for me to understand. I can't wait to make one for my husband as a Christmas gift this year. 😊😊
Great hat for beginners. Easy to follow video. Love the way it looks. This is one of my very favorites so far. Look forward to trying some of your other patterns soon. Thank you and keep up the great work.
