What this video does not show is all of the various iterations of a chuck box we have tried over the years- totes, Army Surplus boxes, fancy Overland boxes, Milwaukee Packouts. It feels like we had tried everything.
The V2 Camp Kitchen is 22" wide, 16.5" tall, and 18.5" deep front to back. This is the smallest box I could physically fit all of our gear in.
The first big step we took was getting rid of our old, recycled kitchen gear. Going to lower end back packing gear really helped with our space needs. Our cooking gear is dedicated to the camp kitchen which also helps ensure everything is ready when we launch on a trip.
I purchased most of our Camp Kitchen gear at ahappycamper.com/
Below are some Amazon links to the same gear. Remember, using these links supports the channel but doe snot cost you any extra.
Camp Kitchen-
• Latches amzn.to/3md9urE
• Rubber Feet amzn.to/3AVFqXI
• HD Rubber Feet- we ended up using these amzn.to/39ODLaQ
• HD Locking Drawer Slides- amzn.to/2ZMhkkR
• Recessed HD handles- also allow for strapping the camp kitchen down to the drawer. amzn.to/3ieIpmL
• Magnet Door Catch for Light Duty Use- amzn.to/3F6kPCS
• Camp Stove Lighter- No open flames. This little guy was pretty handy and worked for several months but is now out of service. We probably will not get another. But if you want to try… amzn.to/3oneYTx
• Our camp kitchen/chuckbox started out using leftover/Goodwill kitchen items. However, as the family grew and we needed more plates, bigger cooking pots, etc. Using traditional kitchen items ended up being too bulky/heavy. I tried a lot of different products and brands. One day I visited A Happy Camper / a-happy-camper-1702256... in Twin Falls, Idaho. The owner directed me towards GSI- she personally recommended all of these products to me. Too much money later I came home with a full complement of GSI ware. It has been 5 years with no issues- we recommend all of these products.
• GSI Dutch Oven- amzn.to/3kShhf7
• GSI Coffee Pot/Water Boiler- amzn.to/3EZJn06
• GSI JavaDrip Coffee- amzn.to/3oqBta2
• GSI Non-stick Fry Pan with removable handle- amzn.to/3iihA1e
• GSI Plates/Bowls- these nest really nicely. amzn.to/3kPG1EY
• GSI Collapsible Cooking Pot- We use it primarily for mixing & salad. The pasta strainer is really handy. amzn.to/2Y3bYAs

Like the idea of being able to bring all the kitchen outside at one time.

I liked your fridge set up. The camp kitchen would be a natural fit under your fridge box. I already started sketching it

Very nice box. All the experienced outdoors people have very compact kitchens. They are the most mobile versions and highly efficient. Thanks for sharing yours! I never knew that there was a marine version of a propane tank. No rust!!! More safety. Looks very nice. I must find out more. I learned something new, thanks!

Do you have the dimensions of the box. I have been looking for something just like this.

The V2 Camp Kitchen started out as cube with exterior dimensions of- 16.25" Tall (Plus rubber feet), 22.25" Wide, and 18.75" Deep front to back. I then cut the door by making a line around the top, bottom and sides that was 15" from the rear of the box. Since I did not want a gap between the door and the box I cut the full circumference of the box. I then used woodworking clamps and river straps to hold the two sides together while I attached the hinge and latch hardware. The final box with functioning door is 16.25" Tall and 22.25" Wide, but the overall depth front to back is 18 9/16" inches. The interior shelf extends 14" from the rear of the box and is 9.5" above the bottom of the box (9.5" of clearance).
