I love the fact that you don't have a long speech before you begin the tutorial. Quick and to the point. Love it! All tutorials should be quick and to the point with very good instructions and videos.
I just finished making the hanging tea towel and I love the design. I will be making more for my friends and family. The tutorial is easy to follow along with. I like how to the point you are in this tutorial. I will definitely be following your videos from now on. Thank you Angela.
This is by far the best video I have seen on a sewing tutorial. I love how you get right to the point and no extraneous material. You have such a lovely, calm, teaching voice. I have made several of these for gifts. Thank you so much!!🥰
Again, one word....AMAZING! Thank you! Actually, I need to say more. You have the nicest videos, you have a lovely speaking voice to explain directions so well, you don't beat around the bush like so many, you get right down to business! No flash, no 10 minute stories, just wonderful helpful sewing videos! You have ingenious designs, thank you for sharing......& teaching us! Definitely will subscribe.
I have watched at least a dozen videos on this project and you've got the BEST one. I have made 17 in the last 3 days and have 6 more ready to finish. Thank you very much for this great idea, it is by far one of my funnest projects. ❤
I hope it’s the best one as it’s my design! 🤣. Thanks so much for watching. Please have a look at my other tea towel designs etc on my channel. Happy Sewing!
You have, by far, the most useful quick and easy sewing channel I’ve found yet. Your instructions are clear and complete and your videos are beautifully filmed which makes following extremely easy. I wish all instruction videos were as well thought out as yours! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This hanging towel is so nice! How it’s made is genius, and your tutorial is so well done. Thank you! I will be making some of these as Christmas gifts. ❤
A lovely modern design! The tips about the home-made template and where to place the fabric or embroidery so that it shows to the front, are so helpful. I'm enjoying all your tutorials and learning a lot from you. You have great sewing and teaching skills, thank you Angela 💐
Thank you so much! I really don’t like the look of those tea towel dresses. Looks like you are wiping your hands on a child’s dress……. Made quite a few prototypes until I got this. Have a great day!
I have made several of these hanging towels for my family as gifts this year. This is the best hanging towel ever. No buttons, no snaps and so easy to sew. Thank you for this wonderful pattern.
So happy you like this design! My husband couldn't understand why I was putting so much effort into this towel. Told him I was determined to make one without any fussiness to it. I've got another one up my sleeve........Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!
@@NotchesSewing Your hubby will also appreciate the fact that notions today are getting quite costly so not having to purchase a button is easier on the budget! Especially if you plan to make several of these beautiful hanging tea towels. Your design is hands-down the BEST!
Perfect Tutorial! So easy to follow. Precise, clear instructions and no annoying background music. Love the index notations in the description as well. Thank you!
So glad to have found this pattern and video. Easy make and useful and pretty. No more towels fall on the floor after being looped around my oven handle. Easy to follow. I added fleece interfacing and quilted to make. It sturdier. I love these. Thank you for sharing.
This is such a great tutorial for hanging towels. At first I wasn’t so sure how it was going to work out. Everything always comes together. I make and sell Kitchen Boa’s at the farmers market and this will be perfect for the people who don’t want a boa. You have the perfect voice for teaching and as always I love 💕 your video’s. Thank you
Thanks for the kind words🙏. I have been rolling up the boa with a set of coasters in a bowl cozy and wrapping a ribbon around all of it as gifts. See you in the next vid😊
My first time attempting to use a sewing machine was mask making at the beginning of covid. I made at least 200 of them and past them out to everyone; as I was a public transit driver at the time. I discovered I love to sew at age 57. Via Utube I now make: wallets, purses, potholders, and now awesome hanging tea towels. Thank you so much for the free patterns and easy to follow tutorials.
This by far has been one of the easiest tea towels that I personally think I can make that looks so simple for a newbie such as me. Thinking there was a pattern ready for me to print, I was amazed to see there wasn't. The simplicity of this pattern is easy for newbies and experienced. I applaud you in your newest creation. Kudos to you.
thanks so much. I spent a bit of time designing it to make it as simple as possible without any “fussiness” for the overall look. Glad you like it and hope you give it a try!😊. Please also have a look at my newest hanging tea towel designs. Cheers!
You are a great teacher! No personal chitchat - just instruction. My time is very limited, so I appreciate that more than I can express! Thank you for that, and for your wonderful tutorials! I want to sew, not listen to everyone’s personal stories which are none of my biz!
Glad you like the look of it. I designed this as I didn’t wanted something more modern looking. Please have a look at my latest designs as well. They are even easier. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html
Hi Angela, Found out what I was doing wrong.... It was the folding in the center part and pulling the material down and sewing over the top of the band. i was pulling the material down over the material over the top and not pulling the whole thing down and stitch. Now the material lines up perfect. Nice! Love this Pattern. I'm sure all my friends will too! Thank you so much.
Thank you for such clear and concise directions for these towels. And I wholeheartedly applaud you for being so prepared and getting right into the subject matter without spending 10 or more minutes " conversing " i.e. wasting my time. In addition, you have such a relaxing voice, which makes the instructions even easier to grasp. I've subscribed and look forward to seeing and learning more in the future. Blessings and Happy New Year. KA
Happy New Year Karen and thanks for watching! I make many many samples before producing a tutorial to make sure my methods are as simple as possible with professional results. So I really do try not to waste any viewing time. Please have a look at other tutorials on my channel. Happy Sewing!
I love this easy pattern and your instructions and tips. I’ve given them away to seniors who have arthritis in their fingers. No struggling with snaps or buttons!
I've made a couple of hanging towels using different patterns. I really like the lines of this one. I'll have to make one soon. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your tutorials.
@@NotchesSewing I finally made one and I really like the style of this. Unfortunately, the towel I used was not as wide as the one you used, so I had to make some modifications. Not perfect, but a good practice one. I plan to make more, so thank you again. :)
This tutorial is absolutely excellent. Thank you for your clear, detailed, and precise instructions and perfect camera work. Just made my first one of these up and am very pleased with it - your instructions provide perfect guidance and nothing was left out.
what a great video. Just tried it with an old tea towel and some left over fabric and I'll give it a 7/10 for first attempt. Such a simple design and instructions, thank you so much
I’m pretty sure that’s a B+!😊. Good on ya! Please have a look at my latest designs for tea towels. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html
WOW! This was fascinating to watch!! I learned so many new techniques that I’ve never seen used. I loved how you thought ahead in each step. Wonderful tutorial and idea. Thank you!!
Wonderful! Thanks so much. Please have a look at my latest designs to make hanging tea towels. I often make bowl cozies and put in a matching towel and coasters as gifts. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html
Well. I tried the "new and improved" tutorial, but I just liked the look of this original one better. I really struggled getting everything to line up and deal with "operator errors" along the way, but I FINALLY GOT IT!!! I'd post a pic if I coud but after making about 6 "nopes", I can do it. THANKS for the video! I'm pretty sure I have it memorized now.
This is an awesome tutorial! I’m not a person that can normally make anything that requires sewing, but my first towel came out perfectly. Thank you so much for your easy to follow instructions and detailed video!
You are so welcome! So glad to hear this. Please have a look at my other hanging tea towels as they are even easier. Cheers! Will have more designs soon. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html
I just made this. It turned out very nice. I had my IPAD right beside my machine and watched as I sewed. I am going to tell you that during the process, I did not think it was going to turn out. Mine was not looking like yours at least I didn’t think so. So I quit working on it for three days. I just pulled it out this morning. Decided to work on it some more and lo and behold. It did turn out, thank you so much ❤❤❤
Thanks Angela. This is brilliant! I have made a few hanging towels for kitchen and bathroom BUT I think this is quick and easy and professionally done compared to what I've done. I like the strap idea. I'm inspired to make some. Well done!
I just finished my first set of these with a towel that didn't match anything else in my drawer (clearly I have a problem collecting random towels much like people collect pens). Now I have a set of towels! I love that they don't have buttons or snaps and that they are much quicker to remove from the oven door handle. Thank you for such a clearly demonstrated project.
I really like this design. When I first started sewing again I made some hanging kitchen towels for Christmas gifts using a thicker towel, a pot holder and a button. They came out ok but I hated the gathering part and sewing through all that bulk and swore I wouldn't do that again. This is so much nicer - clean lines and I like using a thinner cotton towel. Will definitely try this. Thank you!
so glad you like it. I’ve mentioned before that I didn’t know that this was a “thing”. I came across videos with the potholder and buttons and ones that look like little dresses and I just thought Nope…… I made many samples until I was happy with this final design. I knew I wanted simple and clean. For some crazy reason I don’t want buttons in my kitchen😁. Thanks for watching. I’m trying to come up with a different design so the towel does not need to be sewn in… Stay tuned….
You know what's weird is no matter what design you prefer to make it style of towel, someone at a market will always ask for something different. Comments like, do you have thicker ones, do you make them longer, etc etc. So if selling, variety is the key. Definitely going to be doing these ones because I think no-one nearby is doing this style.
This is a very simple, step by step tutorial. I love how you take your time to explain each step. I would love to make some of these hanging tea towels as Christmas gifts, but my only problem is that my towels measure either 15 in. x 25 in. or 16 in. x 26 in. Will the measurements given in the video work for my towels.
Hi Helen, thanks for watching. Glad you like my design. The main thing you need to do is have the tea towel measuring 6” across after it is pleated to fit the fabric piece. Instead of marking 4” from the centre when marking for the pleating, mark 3.5” from the centre and then 3” from that mark. You’ll just have less turned over to the back at the sides. It doesn’t matter how long it is after you cut the towels in half. Have fun sewing and let me know how you go😊
@@NotchesSewing Thank you for answering this! I have the exact same size towels and knew it would work and would figure it out but you saved me a step! ❤🙏🏻👏🏻
This is one of the best videos for a beginner!! Truly appreciate how you provide measurements while explaining the process. Running to the fabric store now. Thank you.
I love this! I'm currently sewing things for Christmas gifts and possibly to sell at craft fairs and this looks like a keeper! I love that you don't have to do buttons, I am not a fan of button sewing! Can I ask where you get your tea towels at? Are they inexpensive? I don't think I've ever bought that type before. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Glad you like them! I really don’t like the look of the button ones or anything with ribbons etc for my kitchen… I just bought a set of three tea towel from Spotlight. I think they were on sale for total of $5. There’s plenty of great tea towels out there plain and with prints.
@@NotchesSewing definitely a sale shopper. especially as the big S store is the only place to buy fabrics in my town. Thrift stores and donations help me find other bargains.
This is an amazing design - so neat and professional looking. I've already made 2 and now all my friends and family will have all the hanging tea-towels as presents for years to come :-) Your tutorial is so simple and easy to follow as well - thanks for your generosity in sharing.
Great video with clear instructions! Thank you for stating the dimensions in imperial and metric. Good news for all who love sewing!! Blessings to you.
I wasn't going to do this one, since it's not like the ones I remember, with buttons. But after seeing how this is so straight-forward, and fiddling with buttons is unnecessary, I'm definitely going to give this one a go. Thanks.
I love this tutorial! I’ve made over 30 of these in the past few years! Made them Xmas gifts, thank you gifts, and donations to raffle baskets. I’ve made them for all holidays and seasons. Thank you!!
I have made a few different hanging towels but this is the only one i will be making from now on. It is absolutely the best and easiest i have seen. Thankyou for the brilliant tutorial
You are welcome 😊. Please have a look at my other designs. I will have a new one soon. Be sure to subscribe and turn on ALL notifications so you don’t miss it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html
I use these towels often and hate when they get worn, this is the Best pattern I have seen and so unique. Definitely trying it! Also I must compliment you on a job well job with the tutorial. Most I can't stand to listen to because they drag it out so much, you did such a awesome job and kept my interest all the way through. Thank you!!
Thanks so much Pam! I am even thinking of No talking at all in my tutorials as it takes a good day just to do the voiceover. I could produce more if I did that but fear it might take away from clear instructions? Let me know your thoughts.😊
I love this pattern! I made a pile as Christmas gifts several years ago, and just returned to it for a Mother’s Day gift. So quick to make a such a functional product. Thanks!
@@NotchesSewing Wonderful! I bought something once, it had a towel at each end and goes over the neck...I hope I can make more of them because as a whole-food, plant-based chef, I give cooking demos at times and want some for myself.
I am so glad I found your tutorial. I sew several towe hangers but I am having a hard time and can’t sew it right. Your video was very clear and I love it. i don’t need to worry about the bottons and botton holes. One thing was hard for me was the facing of the band. I have to unseem several times 😅, and puzzeled me on how to hang🤣. Now I can make a lot so easy... 😍Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! I will have new designs soon. Make sure to subscribe and turn on ALL notifications so you don’t miss them. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment😊
You’re a genius. Wish I had thought of that. I’ve been racking my brain on how to make a towel stay on the oven handle without having to add buttons or Velcro. Sick of my towels falling on the floor. Thank you so much for your idea.🩵
I’ve always made hanging towels with a button closure. This method is so much easier. I’ve made several of these already and will teach a girl I know who is just beginning to sew. Excellent video, easy to follow and great video.
Thanks so much Nancy. Please share and have a look at my newest designs. They are even easier. More to come😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html Cheers!
32 y.o. crafter here. Just recently got into sewing. Was crocheting prior to that. I never liked the look of crocheted tea towel holders. They looked too dated to me. But I LOVE the look of this one! The pattern and instructions are simple and easy to follow. I've made a few of these for my family for Xmas. Thanks!!
Same..don’t like crocheted tea towels either. Really don’t like the ones that look like a dress…and then hung in front of your stove??? This is why I set out to design something a bit more streamlined, Thanks for watching. Please check out some of my other tutorials. Happy Holidays!
You are ingenious! So many great little tips in your videos. I also love the lack of long, lengthy banter in the beginning. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creativity!
I watched your tutorial a second time and was delighted to finally make the holder correctly. The first video I watched was not yours and I never got it right. You get FIVE stars. Now that I know better how to make these, they will be Xmas gifts for everyone. I did have a trouble with the second one I made. I got the band on backwards. I will just watch your lesson again. and again until I get it right. AND, they way you showed how to make the bottom corner on the towels is GREAT. First time I made holders with nice corners. Keep up the wonderful tutorials. I will be watching.
You can do it! Please also have a look at my newest designs as they are even easier. Have fun! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q1uvQ72qFHw.html
BEST, FASTEST, MOST EASY TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!!! THANK YOU! I tried other directions and it took me a long time to make one. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video! In 15 minutes I was able to measure, cut and sew my towel!!
Thanks Emily. This is my original design so I’m not sure what other instructions are out there. Please have a look on my channel for more designs. Cheers!
Love the finished towel!!! A bit fiddly at first but after the first one, no problem. I like not having to do buttons and buttonholes, even though today’s machines make it much easier.
Yes this is easy to follow. Directions are great in plain English. No annoying music to listen through either. Will look at other tutorial you have. Thank you
I love this tea towel! I have kids and love how it doesn’t come off the oven handle. Super easy, well explained and amazing finished product! I’ve searched the internet and Etsy for something like this and came up empty handed. Everything had fastners. Fold over technique is a nice clean look. Thx you!
I had a fireman come in to my house when it was first built and he said we should never be hanging tea towels on the oven door. Maybe move it over to the handle of the dishwasher but then not all dishwashers have a handle Ask me if I have any tea towels hanging on my oven door?🤪🤪😝🤣😜
These are stinking cute!!! Made my first one this morning w/a tee towel from Big Lots (micro/fiber Gnome print) and just folded towel in half, essentially using the full towel, and worked great.
So far I have made two towels. I am very pleased in how well they turned out. My mom who is 83 and has been sewing for 60 years asked me to teach her. She had not seen this version of kitchen towel project. I greatly appreciate the detailed step by step instructions and the spot on camera view too. Can’t wait to try out more of your other projects!! Thank You !!
Thanks so much for watching. I created this design after not being able to find anything that I liked the look of. I like clean design. So towels with buttons and ribblons or that looks like you're hanging a child's dress in front the stove is not for me! LOL. I knew I could created something that would be easy to use and nice to look at. So after many many samples, this was final result. So glad you like it. Just follow my steps precisely in my tutorials and it should all turn out. Have fun!
I just made my first one. I used an old tea towel that didn’t matter if i messed it up. It turned out perfectly! I’m ready to make more! I can’t thank you enough!
