You can display these pumpkins for three months. That's a great amount of time for decorations. But oh my goodness, the cleanup! My OCD would be going crazy!

These are so well done! I’ve done some foam carving, but never pumpkins. One of my favorite tools is a wire “wheel” brush that attaches to a drill. It creates a blizzard mess, but you might love the results. Your monster mud tip and great paint job are my favorite takeaways here. Great job,

I didn't think of monster mud until you brought it up but that's a fantastic idea. I think it'll go a long way to protect the creations from little dents and dings. I'm a klutz so I know I'll be using it in the future for sure, even on foam board. Another wonderful project-you have an artist's eye and heart.

Monster mode was a last minute addition. After I had painted it once, I realized that the surface was pitted and rough in various areas and it dawned on me that monster mud would work

Can I use a hot knife for all the edge cutting in the beginning? I’m trying to limit the amount of tools I need to buy lol. I know I’ll need the hot knife later for the lollipops so it’s one I’ll reuse.

These look amazing! What do you ask Tractor Supply for? Are these used in shipping?

When you go to tractor supply, don’t ask a cashier or regular employee, you want to speak to someone in management or somebody in receiving. The receiving department is the one that handles the styrofoam blocks because they are used to ship huge items such as trailers and tractors (it’s used as cushions). So when you speak to them simply tell them that you were wondering if you could have their styrofoam blocks, if you’re lucky they’re more than willing to get rid of them, but a lot of stores have policies against it so it’s a hit or miss

Just out of curiosity, what do you do with all the leftover foam shavings? Can they be repurposed for anything or just discarded?

Other creators have re-purposed them, but anything that is left over I put into a trash bag and throw it away

Yes it will withstand rain, it’s exterior latex paint which is made for the outdoors. I didn’t anchor them
