Hello Chef. If you guys are still in the L.A area, and it seems that you guys like beer, go check out Smog City brewery in Torrance. They don't sell food, but you're welcome to bring your own. Enjoy!
It was really fun, Taku!! Your decorations skills are just amazing :) Cant wait to catch yellowtail with you guys! P.s. I changed my channel name to "Opaleye" lol
I got inspired and made homemade sushi 🍣 it turned out amazing and was beyond my expectations of what I could do but I just did what you do and it was amazing! I wish I could share it with you!!
Orion rules with sushi/sashimi/wasabi. I'm 45 minutes from Long Beach...check out the Shoreline Village area and the 3 story restaurant Parkers Lighthouse across from the Queen Mary, you might enjoy that place.
The problem with the tongue eating parasite is that it takes a lot of the fishes nutrition. The problem with parasites is not the ones you can see but the ones you can't.
Hello chef big fan here, love your videos. Just a quick question, aren’t you worry about the parasite or mercury level of the fish? I mean it is not super freezed to be commercially safe to be called sushi grade, thank you.
Taku, did I just see you using a torch right next to the gasoline cap?? Tell me I’m seeing things brother. Cool fishing vid!! How long do you like to age a firm flesh fish like this?
@@lopezaldana7 they probably resemble a green a bird may drop, as well as provide a necessary diet requirement for fish(since most eat plants/algae or are omnivores). That and they're just blobs that sink to the bottom and get everyone's attention
Mejina sashimi! Skin on is tops. My dad and I used to fish with peas specifically for the opaleye. Caught opaleye, buttermouth perch, rubber lip perch, sargo, all kinds of stuff on peas. Fresh mussels work really well, too. Not sure about yellowtail, though. That's a predatory pelagic. I could see hooking a smaller fish on a pea, though, and a yellowtail maybe taking that fish. Great vid as always! Wish I had known you guys were down here!
Hawaii (island of Oahu) has a marine preserve called Hanauma Bay, and eventually there were so many visitors who wanted to feed the fish bread etc that it made the water dirty so the approved treat to give to the fish was green peas. Nowadays, I don't know if they allow feeding the fish at all, but the green peas didn't crap up the water.
Bread is made up of a lot of ingredients and causes the dirty water. Green pea... is.. just green peas and is a nature vegetable as if is like a sea plant. So it won't dirty up the water and goes back to the environment naturally.
ahhhh Taku being modest! " ahhhh as a fisherman im the worst out of all the other guys ... i just know how to cook" GET OUTTA HERE !!! You can fish, cook and more !!!!
Hello, I'm hoping you or someone else from the comments can clarify something for me. I recently started making my own sushi. Everything I can find online says all commercially purchased fish must be frozen prior to sale to kill all bacteria, worms etc. Yet I watch professionals (like yourself) catch and eat raw/wild fish. Is buying / eating unfrozen fish a thing, or should I make sure all purchased fish has been frozen?
Did this dude say they were trying to camouflage themselves in the live well??? Lmaoo. Def just stressed out that's why they were changing. I guess anyone can start a RU-vid channel.
