The problem i'm having with this twizzled loop is that the line above the twizzled part (or i should say twisted) becomes twisted itself in places and with this i can see the potential for there being little knots formed. Also when i attached a method connector to the loop, this made the twisted boom straighten out rather than come off at an angle like it was (which is what you want and the whole idea of a twizzled loop) due to the weight of the method connector. But that brings me to this, in that wouldnt the method connector alone act as a boom to kick the hook length away from the bomb/feeder? meaning theres' no need for a twizzled loop? I watched a video of a lad who is waggler fishing and he uses a swivel to connect his hook length and he does that to prevent the hook length wrapping round the waggler so i guess its the same in this case with the method connector and on top of that this method connector probably weighs more than say your standard size swivel.

cns180784 Good morning, if you are getting twists above your knot check how you are tying the boom. If you check out my video on how to tie a versatile rig you will see that I place one or more rubber float stops between the quick change sliding clip and the top of the twisted loop. This act as a buffer and kick the twisted loop away from the feeder. You could substitute a couple of small ‘stotz’ but that looses the rubber cushioning effect. I didn’t recommend this because while I’m aware that some top anglers use this method, a lot of anglers pinch the shot too tight thus damaging the line. I also use a Cralusso or Drennan small quick snap connectors to enable quick changes of the hooklength or just leave the loop and attach the hooklength loop to loop. I don’t like the bulkier plastic connectors for this. As to the point of a swivel in the waggler rig that would be more to prevent spin and if you want to use it for attaching hooklengths you should use a micro or mini quick change snap connector. I hope this helps Tight Lines

Nice video Bill i'll be using this twizzled loop now. Do you always use this for fishing a bomb too? i find i sometimes get the odd tangle fishing a simple running bomb so i'd imagine this would eradicate those. You could say, start off on a bomb and then want to change to a cage or maggot feeder so in this instance it would certainly be wise to have a twizzled boom at the start with your bomb would you agree?

cns180784 Hi yes I use a twizzled boom for 95% of my ledgering. As long as you put on several float stop rubber beads after the sliding link this will kick the line away if you are fishing straight through for bigger fish. In my video on a versatile rig I emphasise your point about changing rigs and giving protection to the hook link so I agree with your thoughts. Tight Lines

I have those rubber beads but i dont like them because once you've used them for a session and you take them off, you cant use them again unless you leave them on your line. I just use split shots but i'm going to get some stotz as i've heard that they're better.
