I just started fishing and purchased a whip today 6 July 2024, then came across Bills video part 1 and 2 on whip fishing, lots of excellent information. I was very upset when I watched your last video, it was very emotional, may your God keep you safe RIP❤
Sadly Bill is no longer with us, but he was without doubt one of the best fishing tutors on any platform! Thank you to his son Mick for leaving his videos up 🙏
Well done, I've been fishing 50years and its amazing how much and expensive gear people recommend. It's easy for novices to get bamboozled in tackle shops. Great video
Yuo this is the bloke to listen to, i used to catch fish as a kid for survival niw im an adult im getting into fishing for fun but im a caveman the fella i watched before this had a mary poppins bag full of gear about £200 worth i got a £16 whip 3 rigs, a tub and some maggots and somewhere to sit thats all we need.
Good video for a recovering aneurism/stroke patient. I enjoy fishing with cane poles or "whips" as they say in the UK. Never used prepared bait before to lure fish in. Just bait a hook with a worm and wait...lol. Easy fishing is the way I like to do things. Will have to give prepared bait a go here in the Midwest as most of my fishing is done in rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Live Canadian Night Crawlers on a hook is what we Yanks use here. Not quite as sophisticated as you British anglers are but if it works, it works mate.
Great stuff. Recently got into whip fishing after finding myself getting fed up with all the 'gear', time spent tackling up only to get snagged all over the place. Admittedly that's my poor angling skills, but what I find with the whip is that it's no longer a chore to go fishing. As I'm not a specimen hunter this suits me just fine.
Fair play mate , been saying it for years you dont need mega expensive rods , ive got 20 quid rods and can easily get out 140/150 yards admittedly i have decent reels , mag elites but all bought second at very reasonable prices , to be honest us old ones that were bought up on soliid glass rods and penn squidders or mitchell 600s off the beach any modern rod is a dream lol ,great watch ,all the best
Wow that was a hard watch I never met you but loved all your vids you were a great fisherman and taught me a lot I salute you sir and hope your fishing up there with the angels 😎👍❤️❤️xx
Nice video mate, with you on what I call commercial sized Carp on float tackle and a pin. Fishing is about having fun and I don’t like heavy Carp gear sitting there all day listening for a buzzer to go off isn’t fun to me. I don’t pole fish either now there is little tactile when playing a fish and erecting enough scaffolding to renovate a house doesn’t appeal to me. I sooner use my centre pin and a strong float rod anyway. I guess it’s because we’re old mate, less tackle is more when you have old legs to contend with. I have the same rod use it for natural pools and canals for Crucian and Tench.
