This was such a well put together video! As a beginner, this video made me feel so much more confident with beginning my plant journey Thank you so much!
You always look so stylish. Are you from Israel? I love pathos. I’ve just staked the long ends of one on a coir pole, trying that out, to get the large leaves. All your plants look great in those planters.
Loved the video and the plants selected (except #2 and #10). Killed #2, too afraid to try #10. Thanks Juliette! I recommended you/self watering planters to Naniso just today.
Hi! Thank you for watching! 🌱 Do not be afraid to try and grow different plants. Even if we fail a few times, we learn from mistakes and, as the result, have a higher chance to succeed 😀
@@Mycityplants thank you Juliette! You are so correct. Dear God, I am trying two new categories of plants outside my tropical world. Cactus 🌵 and Bonsai 🌳. It is a challenge because they are in the same room with 150 tropical plants. So far so good! 15 cacti and 1 Bonsai. Growth within myself. ✨️ Definitely great advice to try new things. That fern is a bridge too far 😳
I left my zz plant at work during Covid. Eight MONTHS with no water or care and it was fine. A bit wrinkly but it plumped right back up after a few drinks. Now that is an easy plant.
Hi Sara, Yes, the ZZ plants are hardy and can survive when neglected for a long time. Thank you for sharing your ZZ story and for watching our videos 🌱
@@Mycityplants thanks. I have been watching a lot of your videos. I went and got myself a ponytail palm after watching this one. It is such a cool looking plant! Thank you for the tip of sticking a chopstick in the soil. That is very helpful.
Hi Patricia, Thank you for watching 🌱 I do not have a video about Kalanchoe plants but here is a very helpful and informative article for you plantcareforbeginners.com/articles/how-to-care-for-a-kalanchoe May your plant grow happy and healthy!

Hi! Thank you for watching 🌱 Sand interferes with the soil drying process. I would not recommend to cover the soil with sand. If you wish to dress up the soil, use these PolyPebbles Polished Plastic Stones Planter Top Dressing www.silksareforever.com/vases-and-planters/planter-accessories/polypebbles-polished-plastic-stones-planter-top-dressing.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3NWNveKA-QIVBYzICh1JQAJtEAQYASABEgKUhPD_BwE - do not completely cover the soil with these, keep the coverage VERY LOW density (make sure some space is open between rocks ) Green Cheers!
Good afternoon Juliette ... Excuse me, but; If I may be bold for a second here ? You are such a beautiful woman; And you are posting such great videos ... Thank you for all the information and knowledge ... Have a green/great day ... ✌️🙂🌳🌴🌿🌞
@@Mycityplants I'm the one that messed up Juliette ... Sorry !!! 😕 Won't happen again ... Promise !!! Have a great evening ... See you in the next one ... 👋🙂
Hi! Me too - love these guys 💚 Here is a step by step tutorial: www.hgtv.com/design/make-and-celebrate/handmade/how-to-mount-a-staghorn-fern Green Luck! 🌱
Hi Shobha, Most of the time the overwatering is the reason why these plants decline. In my experience, Philodendrons like the soil to be dry (almost all the way through) before getting a drink. My video about how to save an overwatered plant might be helpful: bit.ly/3qtI1T6 Green Luck and thank you for watching 🌱
Hi Robin, if you are interested to learn about how the self-watering planters work, watch my video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Sgeq8ZXAQLg.html Thank you for watching! 🌱
Greetings from Madoc, Ontario…love your channel…I wish I had floor space but, it’s just my living room bay window sill. I’m going to get a couple of new plants in the fall you just gave me some ideas. Thanks.
Zz plant is easiest for me :) great list!! Love your channel! PS i watched your gnat video yesterday and it worked in 1 day NO MORE GNATS!!!! cannot believe how long we had them and so many videos on RU-vid didnt help at all! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi from Indiana ❤. I learned a lot from your video so I subscribed too. I’m learning the key to plants is the watering. And lightning. Thank you I love the very tall one. Lisa. I’m going to look for that one it was beautiful!!!
I love houseplants and I've been growing them for years. There is alot of good sites for plant tutorials yours is by far the best! I look at sights especially when I buy new plants. I used to put all my plants in the bathtub but now just the kitchen sink. The 2 easiest to grow are the snakeplant and pathos among others
I'm so glad I came across your video!! It's like I took an online Indoor Plants 101 course; which I definitely needed. I'm a new plant owner, and I've even started making macrame plant holders. I loved your video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 💚🪴💚
Great video, thank you. I did spot a mistake though. 19:41, on your right you have a scindapsus pictus which is not a philodendron. It's also not pothos but many people call it that. Never heard it called a philodendron before though. That ponytail palm is a real beauty as are all your plants. 😊
I've watched a number of your wonderful videos on plant care and found them very informative and helpful for all my indoor house plants. You have turned the Tool Master into a Plant master. Appreciate all the videos, beautifully done.
Hello Pieter, Thank you for watching and for your kind words! It means a lot. 🌱 I am very happy that my videos are helping you to keep your plants happy and healthy! Green Cheers!
Hi! Sure! Snake, Jade, ZZ, Aglaonema, Pothos, Philodendron, Dracaena Lisa - Toxic Ponytail, Bromeliad, Staghorn Fern - Not Toxic You may also search all other plants here: www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants Thank you for watching! 🌱
One of the ones that you called a Philodendron is really a Scindapsus. Probably a Scindapsus argyraeus. But they require similar care. Also you can argument low light with grow lights.
I just subscribed because you appear very knowledgeable with realistic information. I wanted a ponytail palm but was afraid that it would not thrive with a beginner..I'm known to be a serial plant killer but I have been rehabbed and learning all I can to make it easy and be successful..thank you
Hi Kim, Thank you for watching and subscribing. The most important thing to remember about Ponytail Palms is that they are succulents and the soil needs to be bone dry all the way through before you water. Green Luck! 🌱
Hi Marilyn, Thank you for your tip! 🌱 Yes, this is a great way to wash and freshen up plants. For plants that might be too big or heavy to carry to the shower, misting and spraying is the way to go 😀
Good idea to kill two birds with one stone... I will bring a plant buddy or two to the bathroom every time I take a shower. There is more than enough mist during the shower time.
In your discussion of philodendron, I thought that the one on your right was a Pothos Silver Satin; it looks just like mine. I began by watering the soil of my bromeliad, but it did not grow. Then I heard that they should be watered inside their centers & my plant began to grow.
Dear Juliette, thanks for your beautiful videos!! I am in love with my plants in the apartment and in the garden in Italy ❤️ and I have recently started using Lechuza pots 😍 I have a question for you: is it possible to repot the jade plant using only lechuza pon? 🙏🏻
@@Mycityplants thanks so much!!! Recently I started to switch to pon some plants...I’m so curious!! 🤩 Another question for you: if I convert a plan totally to pon in a Lechuza pot, I have to respect a dry phase or not? Thanks again! 🙏🏻
Even though pon is porous and does not block oxygen circulation when wet, I think dry phase should take place anyway. For majority of plants - dry phase 5-7 days and for plants like succulents 10-14 days. 🌱
Thank you very much Juliette! I hope your wonderful work continues better and better! The conversion to the Lechuza pot is great !! It would be nice to have Good Dirt products in Italy too, especially Plant Food ;-)
Your each and every video is awesome.. can u plz put a video on how to grow peace Lily , flamingo plant and majesty palm .. from repotting them to make them grow healthier .. completely..
Sister I hope all plants which u tough in the video is easy to grow because when we love plants automatically our heart says to care about them so I believe every thing is possible in love (on plants) to be frank i am watching your channel from 2 days I like this channel thank you and support plants like this sister I felt so happy by seeing this channel thanks a lot for your support to words plants keep rocking sister
Thank you. I really enjoyed this video, as I do all of your videos. They are very aesthetically pleasing, and I love your voice. It is so very soothing. I find my ZZ, Lady Valentine Agleonema, and Jade plants to be the easiest. I also have a snake plant. I had two, but one died. I am sure I overwatered it. I have only two leaves left on the second.
Hi, Thank you for sharing! You might find my some helpful tips about how to save an overwatered plant and prevent this issue in my video here: bit.ly/3qtI1T6 Green Luck 🌱
You are amazing. Thanks so much for all of this information. I have a few of these plants and I needed these tips. I also noticed i need to water less now thats its winter in NYC.
Hi Carol, Sounds like you might have an overwatering issue. Watch my video about how to solve and prevent this issue: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W_6f2o30oFk.html Also, I recommend getting the Soil Meter bit.ly/2yuXVpc to hep you to establish a proper watering frequency. *** We ship meters nationwide Green Luck, and thank you for watching! 🌱
Hi! Thank you for watching! Yes, temperature is a very important factor. In cool temperature soil dries out slower. In warm temperature soil dries out faster. Temperature also affects humidity levels. Plants should not be placed near heat or cold air exposure. Green Cheers!

I recently subscribed to your channel and started watching your videos. I really enjoy your calm and relaxed approach to plants and plant care. I've been growing plants for over 6 decades. I have 2 huge ponytail palms that I bought as tiny plants in 1977 and in 1986. My staghorn fern was 20 years old and a BEAST! Just last week, I divided it into 28 individual plants and gifted them to neighbors and folks in my community. So many of my plants have grown too big to handle at my age and my greenhouse is getting too cramped for all of them. I also divided my giant white bird of paradise, 2 pots of sansavieria zeylanicas, and one pot of sansavieria sayuris and gave all of them to very appreciative neighbors. I love my plants but I forget that they GROW! 😊
Lots of great info on beginner plants. My favorite so far is the Staghorn Fern. So unique and beautiful. I will have to try this. I have a Jade that is shaped like a mini tree and I love this little guy since it is so low maintenance. Thanks for sharing this info.
Thank you for your video. I'm trying to build up a LED garden with no natual light and yet cost effective. I'm from Kolkata, India and my target is to attract all middle class families who love plants but unable to do so due to lack of bright/ medium natural light, or space or time to care and money. Thus my project is to build a low cost LED garden where people can have a piece of green inside their home anywhere and cost effective. Your videos are really informative but would be more helpful if you speak more on bright, medium and low lights, rather the LUX requirements for every plant. That will be really helpful. I've seen plants doing great in 150 - 175 LUX and that can actually solve a lot of issues with the plant. Ultimately it relates to photosynthesis process. Looking forward for such videos. Regards.
Hi Abhirup, Here is the information about the light requirements for indoor plants where you can see light measurements in LUX to get the right exposure for low light, medium light or bright light plants: bit.ly/3IseS6b Wishing you best of luck on your amazing green project! Green Cheers! 🌱
Hi Linda, Thank you for your kind words. It all comes down to writing down all key points to remember what you want to speak about and in which order. Some information flows out naturally when I speak about things I do or talk about for many years, some parts (about a product specification, ingredients, etc.) I memorize. Rarely I read my script but there are times when I did 😀 Green Cheers 🌱
Hello, I’ve just bought a Lechuza pot and transferred 2 small snake plants. How much water do I put in bottom outside pot? I don’t want to get root rot, thank you 🙏🏾
Hi! Please Watch the video about how to water plants in Lechuza planters: bit.ly/3bWSmRs For Snake plant - water/refill reservoir ONLY when the soil is bone dry all the way through. If using the Meter (tool I use in the video) , meter reading should be down to zone 1 + add 2-3 more weeks before watering. Green Luck, and thank you for watching 🌱
@@Mycityplants 1 of my sansevieria require intensive care while 2nd requires advice and 3rd requires thankfulness 1st one is golden hahnii type cute small one in 12cm terracotta pot thriving for 3 months and following all advices and taking all precautions and avoiding all problem causes, suddenly it looked standing boosted with extra energy, soon turned to wilt on pot edges, and upon my hand touched to check discovered it is suddenly loose yes loose it just separated from all root hairs and became solely with small white ball holding 5 of 8 leaves while 3 leaves departed the ball and turned soft. 2nd one is traditional snake plant type, one of stalks insist on having one leaf dry out from tip to bottom slowly till becoming a papyrus paper, then the second so on, and if i trim the dry tip it dries again , this is all in one stalk but other 3 stalks are fully ok 3rd one is green tiger, thanks to it very healthy and happy
Hi Sandy, It is never too late to add this plant to your "easy to care for plants" collection 😀 I am sure you will love having Staghorn ferns in your home. May your plants grow happy and healthy! Thank you for watching 🌱
I am a snake plant mom. I find them very resilient and forgiving for my lifestyle. Thinking of adding a jade plant into the mix. Glad to hear they are low maintenance as well. Like your channel.
Hi! Yes, Sansevieria (Snake) plants are the most resilient and forgiving ! Glad you found our video helpful. Thank you for watching and may your plants grow happy and healthy! 🌱
