I’m new to machine embroidery. This is fascinating that you can make a stuffed animal with it! Have you ever made something similar using a regular sewing machine? Aside from the embroidered face and paw elements, I’m curious about the time difference between the two processes. How long does it take to make this in the hoop kitty from start to finish on the stitching (not including cutting out the fabric pieces) ?

Hi @gerriebell2128! Thank you for your interest in machine embroidery and for stopping by my channel. I'm glad you find the process fascinating! To answer your question, I haven't personally made a sewing option for stuffed animals using a regular sewing machine. However, I can share that one advantage of using machine embroidery is the consistency in the final product specifications. With machine embroidery, you can ensure that each embroidered element is precisely stitched, resulting in a uniform and professional-looking finish every time. Regarding the time difference between machine embroidery and sewing, it can vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the design, machine speed, and individual experience. As for the stitching time for the 'in the hoop' kitty design, it typically takes several hours to complete, but this can vary depending on the specific design and your machine's capabilities. While machine embroidery may require a bit more time upfront, the quality and precision of the final product often make it worth the investment. Plus, with practice and experience, you can become more efficient in the embroidery process. I hope this helps answer your questions! If you have any further inquiries or if there's anything else I can assist you with, feel free to let me know. I always use a flexible plastic ruler to smooth out the fabric while the machine is working. Seems safer than fingers.....!

Thank you dear Jacqueline, you are very, very sweet. I usually find some tool to use for smoothing out the fabric while the machine is working, but...... for this project, my fingers were a little closer😁. Thank you for your love and concern ❤

You are a beautiful designer. You make these animals look life like! The eyes are so beautiful keep up the great work. I don’t have any grandchildren but make a lot of baby quilts for my kids friends. They are going to start getting one of your animals along with the quilts in the future. Bless you and your talent. Bought a lot of your embroidery designs from Etsy. Any chance an Elephant is coming soon? Baby due in November! Lol.

Hello dear Susan and thank you for making our lovely kitty. No you are not missing any files, the back of this kitty is one piece of fabric, no middle back stitch needed. The tail is manually attached to the back. I hope this helps and if there is anything else I can help you with feel free to write me anytime.

Hello dear Gisele and thank you for your support. For 10+ years since I started with embroidery I always used painter's tape and simple scotch clear tape. I also want to mention that my experience is only with Brother machines(industrial and one needle, the V3 that I work with in all my videos) and so far I did not have any issues caused by the glue from the tape. There are some projects where I use double-adhesive tape to secure the stitches in place but I only use it outside the stitch lines (it has a bigger amount of glue compared with painter's tape).

So cute! How do you stuff the arms legs tail and ears after it is sewn together? Do you stuff them before stitching the back on? Then just hand stitch little kitty closed?
@KrosMB
@KrosMB Год назад
Hello my dear Julie and thank you for your support ❤. The ears and tail I do not stuff if I am using fluffy fabric(this kitty was made out of a throw blanket), just the seam allowance will give the effect of fluffiness. However, if you are using a lighter minky you can stuff the ears and tail before making the tack-down stitch. The arms and legs have a gap on the side of each element, this will be the filling gap. This gap will be hand stitched after the kitty is filled with your preferred toy filling.

Are you using Mindy of fleece..or something else for the fabric?
@KrosMB
@KrosMB 5 месяцев назад
I use a combination of fleece and minky for the fabric. The dark grey patch is minky, while the body is made from a fleece blanket. I appreciate your interest in my work!
