This is a greasy oven that would take you at least an hour to clean. Many professional cleaners wouldn't even promise it could get totally clean. We tested out the Easy Off Oven Cleaner. Not only did we tackle the oven but the glass top stove had a nasty ring around the burner. NOTE: it scratched the surface (fine scratches) but it was already so scratched up that you can't see the scratches.
We're very impressed with Easy Off Oven Cleaner - the FUME FREE version. Always wear gloves but it didn't burn my skin or hurt to breath. When you're putting your entire head inside an oven to clean it, it's tough not to breath in the fumes. So I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it did!

Thanks for watching and good luck getting started on your apartment. I put specific cleaning tasks I need to do on the calendar as an appointment. It helps me get started. Yesterday it was to organize my swimsuits, put away laundry and clear off the table.

I wish you had gone into some detail on applying the cleaner and the heating elements. I've covered them with foil before because it's hard to avoid spraying them, especially the upper one.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll note this is future videos. I just wipe off any overspray with a damp cheap microfiber cloth. Like the ones from Dollar Tree.

really doesn't show process, what about the upper oven? How to you not spray elements and light? Do you do racks? No answers here, only "post hoc"

I never had to scrub when I used the toxic stuff. I just sprayed it on and walked away. Cooked on stuff would come off with the wipe of a rag. Yeah, the fume free is okay if you don't mind using abrasives. If you are going scrub with abrasives, I dare say you could use dish washing liquid.

FYI it has a strong smell still. I had to ug my nose and cup over my mouth to breath while I sprayed. Once the oven door is closed theres barely any smell. I left mine in for 12 hours. When I cleaned it off I plugged my nose again. Its worth it though.

Looks a lot like my Whirlpool oven. Thanks for the video. Easy Off oven cleaner can says not to spray on heating elements, aluminum, lights, thermostat.... My heating elements do not detach from the oven. So, I am applying masking tape over them and anything else I do not want sprayed. Did you spray the oven racks/shelves and did that clean them?

I just lift up the heating element and am careful not to spray the other things. I have accidentally shorted an oven light by getting cleaner on it so I’m super careful. Another thing is to be careful not to get cleaner in the heating vent. It can drip down between the glass.

Just sprayed under it and you can lift if up some to clean under it. Next oven cleaning video I’ll show it.

I'd never use a pumice to clean my glass cooktop stove...says right in the instructions to beware of using cleaning tools that scratch. You're much better off using something like Bar Keeper's Friend Cooktop and a utility blade. Why scratch it up more?

Yes you're totally right. I could've restated that and how this stove was going to be taken out and already had scratches on it. So this was really for testing purposes to see if it took off the gunk. In this case they cared more about that than some extra scratches.

Well I have used east off my whole life and never had an oven I couldn’t clean. Today I tried the fume free and I was greatly disappointed! It cleaned the oven door ok. Inside is a whole different story. I might as well have just used a scrub pad. I hardly loosed anything. Terrible!

I didn't have the camera set up correctly and it didn't get some of the middle part of the video. I now hire someone to film to avoid that problem. I'm not great at cleaning AND filming.

Got any ideas how to touch up the ceramic INSIDE?? Newer LG royal-ish blue, had the paint code, but was no help with Ppg, I (IN A PURPOSE BUILT OVEN) Powdercoated many things BUT super no Bueno for cooking anymore so not gonna bother looking at baking a small bit of powder on it. Was just thinking there is so many heat resistant paints out there, heck I had neon pink exhaust on a dirt bike fir a week (friends moms breast cancer charity walk) when I was young so they've been around for decades but was curious about something a bit more substantial than a spritz of high heat blue and black or even spraying a mixing enough wet for a hot dog roller, etc. I have ideas fir days but don't have the time to test and assume there HAS GOT TO BE AN EASIER WAY with all the newer models (than I'm used to) with "colored" insides? Any insight? Lol , apologies for the long winded question(s)...worked myself up "thinking out loud" as my father would say...literally...lol Thanks!

Unfortunately I think this question is beyond my pay grade. Maybe someone else can comment and offer suggestions. I’m totally unfamiliar with types of paint and would be paranoid about it not being perfect. Sorry!

Commercial strength Easy-Off was the only Easy -Off choice at my Home Depot. Didn't work. At all. Would not remove the residue on the oven. Quit spraying with half the can still full. Got a refund. Tried a competitors product. Worked like a charm, and no fumes. Easy Off gets zero stars from me.

Beware of spraying into any fan in your oven as you will have to dismantle the fan to clean it out. And if you have knee replacements like me and cant kneel, you will have to do what I am doing and pay someone to clean the oven for you. One day, I hope all ovens are mounted higher. They are a pain to clean anytime.

No I was careful not to, it may look like I did in the video but I didn't. Next time I'll try to remember to say not to spray on the elements.

Yes. Make sure the oven is off and spray cleaner like Dawn Powerwash on it. Let sit and then wipe off with a damp cloth. If you need more scrubbing power, you can use a small brush or toothbrush on it.

Hi, there are two different types of pumice stones that they use in nail salons. Is it the lightweight pumice stone or the heavier one?

That's the light weight one; I use them, too! To clean caked on/hard to remove things around my house so, I buy them by the bulk! It really does a great job!

Sorry I misread I did leave it on for a few hours. Then wiped out and after it dried it had the white residue on it. Self cleaning now to see if that helps!

Thanks so much, yes you can use it on your gas oven. Don't get it into the holes where the gas comes out is the only difference.

Are pummel stones okay for gas self cleaning ovens? I have heard self cleaning ovens have a manufacturer applied coating to the interior of the oven that works with the self cleaning function...does the pummel stone remove or effect this coating?

Yes they do have a coating. I use a pumice stone on my self cleaning gas oven. Check the manufacturer to be sure. Be sure to get the right kind of pumice stone, not the kind for callouses and keep it wet. Don't use it dry. We have a link to one in the description which is what I've used for years. This is debated even among professional cleaners with most using them but some not.

Honestly, I didn't have any problem getting it off. I wish I knew. Was it on there a long time? I would try contacting the company. You tried everything that I would try already...

What’s this commercial bs you don’t like? We’re enthusiastic about finding something that works. And is less toxic. But if we find something as effective that is actually less toxic we will make a big deal about it! I’ve tried orange hand cleaner, it leaves a lot of grit behind. Tried baking soda and vinegar. Took forever. You can clean it with a pumice stone but lots of residue left behind. I could go on - but I won’t.

I’ve used this brand for now 7 years, was really happy when they came out with fume free. My spouse is SOOOO bad with destroying the oven, puts extra cheese on pizza while it’s on the rack in the oven, won’t pick up anything that falls into the oven. Best money spent for Easy-Off! I’m bored and trying this on a blackened pan too... 😆

For anyone who has a very sensitive nose, the fume free does not mean smell free. My husband had to go into another room with a closed door and leave the house for a bit because the smell was so strong.

We have a video coming out that's about how to clean those. We've tried different methods and so far they're still tough to clean. I hoped to find an easier way but there are some things to help.

Why not just turn on the self clean option and come back to dust that you just vacuum out. To clean the racks try a pressure washer.

Fast forwarding through the scrubbing makes it look a lot easier than it really is. Also, very annoying to have to turn down the volume on the music and turn it back up to hear you talking. This was not a helpful video.

This stuff definatly works but it 100% of the times stop spraying before the pan is finished. Anybody else have this issue?
