It uses the Iris stitch for the main body of the blanket. The border is a twist on the slanted shell stitch. If you only place one round of the slanted shell stitch, it will make a beautiful edge. If you add a second round it becomes the "Lacy Slanted Shell Border". I
was able to knock out three of these blankets in no time at all. It's a very beginner friendly pattern.
861 yds of Bernat Baby Sport Ombre (one ball) will make a 30" x 30" blanket. I used the colorway Tiny Tulips & Funny Prints. You can use any (3) DK weight yarn to crochet the Iris stitch blanket.
