Hey Everyone! Today I am sharing with you all my latest project in our master bedroom. We added some stunning White Chippy Distressed and beautiful wood planks that look like shiplap to our wall and it was super easy to do! The number one thing I loved is how the look is super unique and it is not really something you can DIY and the next thing I loved was how it was the peel and stick method. @@alangreen432 the project went very well..it was important to clean the wall first and I used Lysol colored wipes on the wall to clean it then wiped it down again with water - let it dry thoroughly. The planks were easy to cut and place and I used a roller to press them in. After placing the wall I wanted a little more gray in the color so I gray washed them … it’s been a year and they look great…I also trimmed out the corners. I bought another case and planked out the wall a our front door too … I have a few panels that didn’t adhere very well and I blame that on oils on this wall …apparently I didn’t clean the wall that well…they haven’t fallen off the wall I just keep pressing them down now and again…only I’d know this was an issue because I can see when he plank is slightly lifted.. prep work is important that it’s done right the first time - clean that wall and let it dry. Have fun with this! It was worth it…and the wood is paintable.

Looks great Holly!!! Easy enough to install. We have done 3 different walls with shiplap and each one was a learning experience. We have a long ceiling beam that would look good planked but Hubby is pretty tired of me giving him projects to do..LOL

Hey there! We still love ours so much! We havnt had any problems with the adhesive not sticking or anything like that. We took one piece down recrntly to change our upper door trim and it took off small pieces of the top layer of dry wall. It's difently a permanent application for sure! I hope that helps!

How did it hold up on your textured wall. I read that your wall must be smoothed or it won’t stick. My walls have a knockdown texture.

Hi Ray! My walls are textured and we put the wallplanks up after 1 year in our new construction home. They have been up for almost 9 months in two rooms and are still adhering beautifully !

I've been looking at installation instructions and it seems if you have orange peel walls (which she does), it's fine. If you have knockdown, then you need to sand and scrape (or I'd think you could just use more adhesive).

wallplanks from the website are nice, but VERY expensive, some of those are $10 a square ft (!) and that wall would be way to expensive to do. Even a small 10x10 would be a grand. Instead use thin plywood or underlayment cut into strips and paint it yourself, use nail gun to install. Yes peel/stick saves time but at that cost it's just too expensive

Just a tip you should only have your blade 1/4 in taller than the piece your cutting to avoid major accidents

Awesome product, but way too pricey. To do a small wall in my home I’d be nearing 1000$. Not very affordable. So I am spending $40 on Luan Ply and going to paint it myself.

I agree. Way too expensive for what it is. $160 for 20sqft ON SALE. It's cheaper going to my local lumberyard and cutting the wood myself...and I'm using maple! Lol! I love that you thought outside the box (literally lol). I hope yours comes out (or came out) exactly how you envisioned it!

Wow thank you so much! My wallplanks have been up almost 2ish years and still love them!!! My couch is from a local furniture shop called The Warehouse and is called the Salvesto Sectional.
