I'm so excited to try this. I noticed you guys do approve use of a mica colorant in this recipe. Polysorbate 80 is often used to prevent staining with mica colorants, and I was wondering if there's room in this recipe to add some! I should have listened to you! I didn't buy a mask because I didn't think the SLSA would be that bad if I was careful. Boy was I wrong. As I carefully scooped it out of the bag I immediately stared coughing. I ended up finished the measuring and stirring steps while breathing through a paper towel. I will get a mask before I make the 2nd batch of bars I have planned. They look lovely though. Can't wait for them to be dry enough!

I tried it out and it works super well. I followed this exact recipe and my mom loves it. For me I made something more fruity but I can't remember which fragrance oil I used since there is no more and I did this bath bomb like a month ago.

Greetings, Since the soild bubble bath bars are still not dry, I crumbled the soild bubble bath bars and plucked out all of the peppermint leaves. I used a scalloped circular cookie cutter to reshape the soild bubble bath bars. They look 100% better! No brown spots!

@TracyVu It's pretty self-explanatory. After rolling it and cutting off a chunk, sit it up on the counter, and mold/twist with your hands into the "mountain" shape.

I've made bubble bars, it's easy. I have sensitive skin and use slsa which is mild. I'd advise using a mask .

Hi Anne-Marie you mention to add powdered colorant like Micas when mixing dry ingredients, but then later say to seperate the mix into two containers add then you added liquid colorant. Should I seperate my mixture up in the powdered stage before adding SLSA and add colorant at that step? Also what if you wanted to do more than 2 colors or gragrances. Is that possible as well?

A little late but yes. It is most very likely the hard water. When we had our water softeners installed at our home the technician said plan on using less laundry soap body soap dish soap etc. he said now that the minerals were going to be removed the soap could do what it's supposed to do without having to compete with all the minerals

i hate soft water so much...this hotel we stayed at had soft water...i felt unclean like soap and make up was still on me lol I had to wash my hands forever to get the soap off and it still felt like the soap was on me. Can someone change my mind and tell me how to be ok with soft water hahaha

I'm thinking the reason my bar never really dried hard was because I'm pretty sure I didn't mix my wet ingredients until they reached the consistency that yours did. That's the only difference I can see. I will give it another shot and hopefully something simple as mixing the liquid completely will make the difference in my finished product. +Soap Queen TV yes, humidity is 50% or more a lot of the times. Is there anything that can be done to compensate for the humidity?

I would recommend decreasing the liquid in this recipe to compensate for the extra moisture in the air! You can add about .5-1 ounce less glycerin/castor oil. That will make the bars a bit more dry. I would also recommend running a fan over the solid bubble bath as it dries. You can also use a dehumidifier to absorb extra moisture in the air. =)

By mistake i parchases SLS but in liquid? Can these be used or not?

Do you know what the SLS is mixed with? If it’s water, it may not work in bath bombs or solid bubble bath. In bath bombs, the water can set off the fizzing reaction too early. In this recipe it may make the mixture too wet so you’ll need to adjust the castor oil and liquid glycerin. I would recommend checking with the manufacturer to find out the dilution rate and how to use it in products. =)

Can you explain the reason for using the Corn Starch, Cream of Tarter and Baking Soda. I am a newbie to the bath bomb/bubble bar scene.
