My eyes were on Lucy Werner throughout the entire number--it's hard to focus on anyone else when she's performing...lol She has a great voice, and the way she uses her body is amazing!
This is awesome I've just been cast as Rooster so seeing the national tour version (which I believe is the licensed version) is just so helpful! What an awesome version of the best song in the show!!
I'm so glad you like it! This is from the Broadway National Tour 2014-2017. I'm Rooster here, and this was directed by Martin Charnin, the original creator, Lyricist, and Director of the first Annie. He came up with the idea for the musical and he had so many amazing stories. He passed recently, but his legacy lives on. Good luck to you and your performance!
Captures the essence of the 1930's in the original Broadway production of the number. The choreography of the 1977 production could have come from a Fleischer Brothers cartoon of the 1930's, particularly Robert Fitch's "rubber" legs. The ecstasy they build up to as they contemplate living on "Easy Street" reflected in their shared choreography and also the bits they do on their own along the way to show their individual reactions and personalities is brilliant. I was the orphan that was sitting in the back lol. I performed with them! I auditioned in Singapore and got the made up role, Peaches. Coincidentally enough, I was also the orphan performing on the closing night in Singapore so you might've seen me!
