So, a complete walk-thru of Timelapse, Hyperlapse, Free, Circle, Courselock and Waypoints.... A fair old bit of editing in this video and a long video result; here are the jump points: Circle: 6:28 Courselock: 7:27 Waypoints: 8:20 Cheers!
I've owned 3 diff dji drones...NO one has ever explained hyperlapse like you have. I've had no interest until seeing your tube. Thanks so much! I'm a subscriber for life now.
although this tutorial was produced 3 yrs ago, it's still the best i've ever seen, short and clear.. Thanks a lot Ian. And to top it, Teddy makes it even more interesting , lol
I just wated to say, that two years later... this is still good info! I have bee searching Google all day on this topic and I finally came to this video... Thank you! It was driving me crazy not figuring out "waypoints" and how to get it to show on my app.
Well explained Ian, thank you. A few comments: - It absolutely pays off to have the photos saved as RAW and then do post-processing, even if you just shoot a single hyperlapse and not combine them as you did with this nice effect showing the roundabouts during the day and night. The results after post-production are so much better than what the drone software produces with regards to colour grading and ability to stabilize the footage. - Important to understand is also, WHEN to take hyperlapses. In my view it is not worth to spend 15min waiting for a 12 seconds video, if the outcome is not worth it. So that is way, you need to have moving objects in your scene, like the cars in the roundabout, clouds in the sky, ships on the lake, etc. - When doing hyperlapses during the day, it is essential to NOT use automatic video settings, but set the shutter speed to about 1/5 s to have that nice motion blur we all like. Keep producing those videos Ian and yes Ted is a lovely dog!
I like the hyperlapse videos you made at the end! Not only can you save a flight path using waypoint for different times of the day, you can also save them for different seasons of the year! Brilliant!
Recently got a Mavic Air 2 and have been looking for a solid Waypoints tutorial. Yours explained it far more clearly than the others I've seen. Thanks.
Wow, that's so cool of you to demonstrate the different types of Hyperlapse, thank you so much for your time, I hope you are doing well and made it through all the weird times....peace
Wasn't very clear on how to go about using this hyperlap feature but after watching your video it's much clearer now. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video it really helped me! John
Hi Ian, thanks for this quite superb video. At 12.48 you say some people think it's too complicated, well after watching this video, a novice 66 year old digested and followed to the note and boom, so easy and a joy to put into use. Brilliant, well done mate!
I’ve watched a lot of tutorial videos, but your descriptions and explanations are by far the best. You explained everything very clear and made it very easy to understand. I’m very happy and impressed. Cheers for the video!
Ian your videos are rapidly becoming more polished and a joy to watch. I’ve watched quite a few videos on hyper lapses and still learned a bunch of things none else showed me. I had no idea that course lock could also use a spotlight mode like that, thanks so much for the great content.
It would seem to me that, if I wanted to fly a hyperlapse that would span a time longer than one battery, all I would need to do would be to set up a route with several waypoints and fly my first battery for as long as I could. On the next battery, bring up the previous route and delete the waypoints I've already flown (saving at least one where I previously flew), and resume flying/recording. From there I would need to stitch the ends of the clips in the right places. I have no idea if this would work, but I'll give it a whirl next week when I'm out with the drone. Good tutorial. I enjoyed it.
For a quarter second exposure, rack 3 seconds etc, it’ll make it much smoother and flow into eachimage. You’ll need an ND in daytime though, maybe not at night but give it a go.
Good that you do these advanced videos b/c most other channels go over the same basic things over and over again. How to get cinematic footage,. well if you been flying long enough there is enough content on that to kill a horse. What else can we do with drones. So keep it up! cheers
Hi Ian. I'm using fly app v 1.4.0 (937 offical) with the Air2S and i can't seem to get the setting that allows me to save the individual RAW files that are taken during the hyperlapse recording and also my histogram seems to be a dark grey on a lighter grey so very hard to see? And ideas what I might be doing wrong please?
Great video! I’ve been watching a bunch of videos in the last couple of weeks and yours are my favorites! This was my third Hyperlapse video and nobody else explained it nearly as well, we’re all too serious about themselves and didn’t have a dog named Ted in the video. Keep up the great work!
Amazing walk- thru! A bit of an intimidating feature, wasn't sure if I could make use of it but now I can give it a go. Mahalo NUI (Big thanks) sent via Hilo, Hawai'i 🤙🏽
Great tutorial!! I love the way you have so effectively integrated your controller screen recordings to clarify what your process was. I know that was a lot of work for you - but - so well worth it for me. Also, love the interjections of your little friend. Keep him in future videos. Thanks
Another well explained video and something I will be trying in the near future..👍 Also I got the wife to watch it as told her Ted will be in the video. 😂
