I just ordered my first one! Thank you for showing the difference between how they look when thirsty and not when watering. This was a quick and helpful video for an air plant noob. Your greenhouse is sick btw.

I have mine in TX summer outside, every week I'll give it a little mist and after 2 or 3 weeks I'll soak it ( or when it starts looking 'aged' ) and mine is about to bloom!! When I know rain is coming I won't mist it, because after it rains our climate gets humid enough. My X has been thriving this summer!

Hi, I live in South Florida where we have high humidity. I purchased an xerographica air plant and I noticed after a few days it looked very dry and the leaves curled up. I soaked it again after a few days and it looked the same. I'm giving it proper light as well. So I need to water it more often?

I water air plants every day - when I water my Orchids (spay).

Tillandsia are very fun plants to have around, I keep a few near my nepenthes. If you want some more unique looking varieties, bergeri and seleriana are both good choices.

I just took all of mine inside. It is 3 degrees, in my experience they can stay out at even colder temps. Just not to let them freeze.

You will get roots in a dry climate. I grow these in colorado and mine have grown roots on household conditions. The key is, your airplant will only grow roots if it is comfortable. That means no stress, consistent light, and regular watering. Humidity is not needed in my experience.

How do you know when your air plant has died? I have one like the big one you were showing. I mist it and disk once a week in filtered water?!

My airplants also grow roots I hesitate to move them around because they attach themselves to almost anything they can reach and I don't want to damage the roots

Your air plants need a good soaking once every week ! Honestly you will see a difference. Those type love to be in the open with air around them.

Hi there! Thanks for your video. I just bought a xerographia and it had brown tips on some of the leaves already but it seems to be getting worse. As well as a brown bottom. I'm misting like 3 times a week and leaving in an east window with constant fan on. I'm worried that either there is a rot problem issue with dryness. Any ideas?
@theirisvirus8396
@theirisvirus8396 4 года назад
youre overwatering, its a desert plant. do you shake them off after watering? they also need to dry upside down. the water collects in the leaves and will rot the plant. dry upside down for at least 3 hours.
