Thanks for the video... I too HIGHLY and kindly suggest safety goggles at the table saw - "always"! Trust me, they saved me once and that once was enough to set the record straight! That drawer pull drill guide is sweet!!

Looks great! Nice and simple, with striking contrast (black & white), and since it's only painted MDF, it's an inexpensive, easy starting project that'll last for years, and help build confidence with harder, bigger projects. :)

i love it. what are the thickness on the on those boards. i dont think they are the same with because they would be will over 1in since they stack on top of another. are they different thickness and if they are what is the thickness

Probably. Personally I haven’t trie do that method. The drawers come out 3/4 inch so probably 1/2” Brad nails

Randy Almaguer thanks:) I did 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. And lightly sand with 220 grit sand paper in between coats.

Can’t see the joint going all around the door between the half and 1/4” mdf?

After 24 hours of drying I sand it down and it’s not noticeable:)

I will say I changed the drawer faces to just flat ones because with kid it is harder to keep the drawer faces clean.

The bottom one is 1/2” and the top shaker pieces are 1/4”

What material would u use for the drawer front instead of MDF if you were staining your cabinet?

Any wood would work except Pine would probably be too soft of a wood and would ding too easily. I would use white oak. In a few years I want to redo them with white oak. Honestly soon I’ll be redoing the drawers fronts with pine to stain them. White sucks with little kids.

@@TanushasDIYHomeProjects I have to figure out how to reduce the blotchiness when staining pine. I did use pre stain but still it was blotchy on a floating shelf i just built. So i put several coats of the stain which helped

What the heck was I thinking making my styles and rails out of wood and slotting a dado down the length of them and then the glue up. Next time I make cabinets for the garage I'm going to use that method, it was pretty slick. Nice job. Oh yeah, my safety point would be that along with glasses also tie your hair up in a bun. If that saw got ahold of it it would not feel good. You're doing great work keep it up.

Did you paint your own cabinets? If so, what it the best type of paint for durability of kitchen cabinets? What method did you use for painting?

Yes I did. I used the Pro Classic in Satin from Sherwin-Williams. It's been over 2 years now and the cabinets are holding up pretty well. I have 4 little kids that are constantly getting the cabinets dirty. I haven had any stains or issues so far. I painted with a roller just because I didn't have a paint gun at the time.
