I love your idea very much! I didn't realize that they have to have quarters, though! How nice it would be to donate quarters at various times of year to the patients!
I had a whole garbage bag full of pill bottles I saved to send to a country that needed them, but they ended up with more than they needed so I threw them all into recycle. I’ve saved more since then hoping I could do something with them! Your video was just what I needed! Thank you so much for your tutorial! I can hardly wait to start making these!
And all these years I’ve I’ve been throwing all those pill bottles away. Thank you I could make all kinds of DIY with them. I appreciate you giving us this message today.
Sharon I could make a thousand of these a year with all the meds my family takes, unfortunately. Thanks for the great ideas. I’m new to your channel. Looks like I have to binge your channel while cooking Thanksgiving dinner over the next 2 days.
You are an answer to my prayers. I have tons of medicine containers and was hoping for some ideas on how to repurpose them. Your video has made my day positive thank you so much for your amazing imagination and creativity
I really liked the pill bottle bank! I live in an elderly apt. building and we have to use quarters for our laundry so this is definitely on my gift giving list. THANK YOU FOR THE IDEAS.❤
Love these ideas! Especially the spool. This would be so cute in a sewing room and for some reason makes me think of the cartoon mice in Cinderella. Would be cute in a little vignette with Christmas mice.
I really like the red and white spool decoration a lot!! Regarding the brighter colors of the twine, the twine could be dipped in tea or even coffee to get the cream color and muted red. I think your finished piece is adorable.
I love your sewing kit pill bottle. You know if you added steel wool Instead of Fiber fill, it would sharpen your pins and Needles. This would be great for a young person just starting out.
I love all of these ideas! I think my favorites are the one that looked like a spool with the little vignette on top, and the one for kids with the quarters. My grandbabies would love that in their stockings.
Absolutely loved all these little projects! I especially love the travel sewing kit and the spool vignette. If I could offer one suggestion for the sewing kits-- cut a circle of light cardboard (like a cereal box)the same dimension as your lid and over stuff the pin cushion portion where you made the yoyo. Slide the cardboard circle in before you pull the thread tight. The cardboard will keep it from closing all the way (you won't see it anyway), but will allow for a much firmer cushion and less struggle when you glue it to the lid. Hope this helps! Thank you and again enjoyed your video very much🧵🪡♥
I haven't watched the sewing kit video but if you put steel wool where you put your pins it will keep them from getting dull. I hope that's spelled right lol😂. I just found her videos.
I think your diys are perfect. Most crafters I watch over embellish. Love all these medicine bottle ideas especially the spool. I’m definitely making the sewing kit, but you should add safety pins. My granddaughters are always asking for safety pins. Also, I’m not sure about the bell on the top of the kid bottle. Only because I have to use the palm of my hand to twist the lid of a pill bottle.
Yes to safety pins. Also buttons, especially shirt buttons and one or two the size for most pants. Possibly snaps or hooks and eyes. I would definitely add more straight pins as well. And I’d have added more stuffing if possible. You want it almost difficult to stuff more in. That way it will hold the pins more tightly. Possibly add a light blue chalk or marking pencil. And if you can find some of those foldable scissors to fit inside, they would be awesome. If not those, then a seam ripper might be helpful. Many travel kits I’ve seen have several colors of thread wound on a card. You could also provide thread on a bobbin, or multiple colors on one of those spools you put in. BTW: The thimble IS a thimble; it’s just a ring shaped one. :) (Unless your name is Peter Pan, in which case that’s a kiss 😉)
Those pill bottles with BBTs were adorable. I save the caps for dollhouse projects but had been throwing the bottles away as they are #1 plastic which my transfer station does not recycle; so glad to find a cute use for them! I would have loved that quarter bottle for the days when I had to go to the laundrymat! Kids will probably feed them into gumball machines!
Hi Sharon! Love these! I have tons of prescription bottles! I’m always wondering what to do with them besides a sewing kit and first aid kit. I absolutely love the faux thread spool. That’s clever. I enjoyed your video! ❤️💜💚
I love it just the way it is, and as far as the twine goes. If you wanted it to look the white and the twine, the look More creamy. You could always soak it in tea. Take a tea bag and put it in some hot water. And then put your yarn in there and then take it out after about an hour and end up it on paper towels, and it'll it'll antique it for you and make it look old
Those pill bottles are soooooo cute. And certainly do not look like a pill bottle. Yep think I’ll try these out for sure. Thanks for sharing, love when I see you have a new video. Thanks so much.
The bottles were all so cute loved all of them. I sand my scrapbook paper backs thins it out perfectly. I just do the entire pages for later use.I use the finger sander thing and it’s fast.
Sharon! I love these- I’ve been contemplating pill bottle DIYs on my channel, I wanna use the twine one and shout your channel out if I do one on bottles for xmas!
I’ve been looking for something to do with them. The bottle brush idea is awesome. I love trees and bottle brush are a fav so I will be doing this. Thanks so much!
I think this pill bottle video is wonderful. Love all of these. Come up with some more of these, please. I have these bottles running out my ears. Lol. Thanks for sharing
More medicine bottle ideas: I store bobbins in some of the smallest medicine bottles. They fit in perfectly, and help to cut down on the tangled bobbin threads in my drawers. I’ve also used pill bottles to make cat toys. You can put bells inside, or even a little rice or beans to make a rattling noise. Then wrap them in fabric, tying the ends like a wrapped candy with something strong enough to stand up to a cat mauling it. I used to use film canisters to store sets of buttons; pill bottles would probably work, too. With the film canisters I could sew a button through the softer top to show what was inside. Or I would secure it on the underside of the lid by putting a tiny “cottar pin” through the shank. Some of the better buttons came attached to the cards with those, back in the day.
I like them and I’m interested to find more uses for pill bottles, that’s one thing I have plenty of! (And I just got rid of a ton of them.) I’ve looked before but most of what I found is just using them to hold things, while they are useful for that, there’s only so many you need. Thanks! BTW - someone’s probably already told you, but the word I think you were looking for was “galvanize”.
Sharon, hi, this is the 1st time I've met you.😅 Love these! Spool is my favorite! ❤❤ I'm gonna make it and the quarter one for my granddaughter's bday. Shes 11 a week after Christmas. She will absolutely Love it! Thanks for sharing, hope theres more. 😂 Instant subscriber.
I have so many pill bottles that I have saved for doing crafts with and I absolutely love all of your projects. If you have anymore ideas using pill bottles please share ❤
I have a few of them pull bottles I didn't know what to do with them. I normally use them to store seeds but I loved your ideas! Thank you for all the cute ideas!
All these are great! I would have never thought of using empty pill bottles. I threw away a ton of them the other day. I have to say I'm getting off the Sammie train with Unicorns Dust Designs and Sonnet too and getting on the Sharon train!! I'm hooked!!
Love the ideas. I have tons of medicine bottles I throw away every month. I never knew what to do with them. Thanks for the inspiration. Wishing you and yours a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽🍁
I have so many pill bottles to recycle! Neat ideas you have. Elderly may use the quarter containers for bus fare! Especially liked pin cushions. Also holiday scene ornaments for students to make as gifts or school fund raising. Keep up more ideas.😁
So cute, it's they way people did things so many years ago, making due with what they had sitting around with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate making Christmas decorations, making gifts for loved one's, A simplier time with out all the hustle and getting every single game etc. Just makes me think of the old day's people were kinder things were simple, everyone got along. Thank you so much for sharing, Many Blessings To You And Your Family Stay Safe And Well.
*I am a LOT older than you, so I have been using empty pill bottles from prescriptions for longer than I care to admit...at least 10 years longer than "reduce, reuse, recycle" ♻️ became a "thing" LOL❣️🤣🤣🤣 I carry 2 in my purse 👛 for change - one for quarters and one for pennies, nickels and dimes. I can't tell you how many times someone in the line with me at the register has exclaimed what a good idea for change this is, so they're not fumbling with a zipper on the side of their wallet, hahaha‼️ And if you grocery shop at Aldi, you always have a quarter to secure a grocery cart.😁 I have another one in my purse that contains elastic hair ties and bobby pins for a quick hair refresh. And - of course - another one made into a First Aid Kit, which contains the usual items, plus a small, hard-sided plastic bottle of super glue that I get from the Dollar Tree (it has a red cap and a yellow body) - and still another one that has paper clips, flat plastic bread ties that are perfect for securing the part of your flip flops that goes between your toes if the hole gets too big and keeps pulling through. I keep the flat twist-tie style bread ties and a few zip ties in that container, too, along with a short emery board for a torn fingernail. Of course, I also made myself a sewing kit, complete with several colors of thread, a thread feeder, needles, 🪡 buttons, a thimble and a tiny scissors. Last, but not least, I have another prescription bottle that contains a little keychain that has a 2-ended eyeglasses screwdriver, a tweezers, and my jeweler's loop on a chain ⛓️ so I can put it around my neck when I use it.* *I hope you find this useful❣️💖🤣 One of my friends asked me for a list of what I use empty prescription bottles for and I handed her a list of 70 (so far) beneficial uses I have found for them, LOL‼️🤣🤣🤣😉*
Those are all great ideas, as a creator I always say most of the ideas we do are not new, they are just repeats! Thank you for sharing all of your ideas and tips!
@@CozyJunkStudio *My pleasure, Sharon. I believe God gives us all gifts. He shares His love ❤️ with all of us and gives a vast array of people flashes of the same ingenuity so creative ideas are spread far and wide to be shared with people who will duplicate them with their own creative twist.😉🙃🤪*
When they used to make clear medicine bottles, I remember my nanny taking them and putting a little charm or something small in them and standing them up on a baking sheet, melting them down to make little trinkets out of them. They would melt flat like a football shape. Kinda like a flat taco, with a surprise inside. You could drill a hole in them and make a necklace or keychain 😆 🤣 It was cool to watch as a child. 😊
I use pill bottles in my travel bag for supplements and small items. Tums fit perfectly in the smallish size bottles so I’m going to adorn one to make it more fun! Thanks for the great idea!!
I’m glad I came upon your channel! I love the way you teach. Your neat ideas make them special. I’m going to make two w/quarters to keep in my car for the car wash/vacuum. I buy the pastel bakers twine, beads, & plastic needles for my granddaughter from $ Tree to make little bracelets for her friends. I think I’ll make her a few but use the taller size that syringes come in. 1 for bakers twine & embroidery thread, 1 for beads & 1 for plastic needles & tiny scissors. I’ll use Shabby Chic theme to match her room. Target sells a small lazy susan in the dollar area that would hold them to put on her desk.
The trees are adorable. All of these ideas are so cute. Thank you for sharing. I think all of these could be done with pretty heavy patterned paper too.
Thank you for these wonderful Ideas!!! 💖 I have so many pill bottles every month!! All different sizes as well!! 😮 I'm so happy that there is a way to reuse them!! You did a wonderful job!! 😊❤🎉😊 I really live the traveler fabric you used!! Very cute 😍
