So there is a way to separate the back off from the front of the dish with a thin flathead screwdriver. There's just some adhesive u have to separate which once u get it started, it's not too bad. Saw a couple of vids before I did that to mine. I then was able to take out the motor mount thing and push out the cable. So if u don't want to cut the pipe, try what I did and then just re glue it back together once the pipe thing is out.

Vendor should make a metal case that is a 'tad' higher so you can leave the arm in stowed position and then just disable the motor (many do it through a power switch).
