Great info! I drop a whole grapefruit with the inner peel in my smoothies on a regular basis. I knew there was something good in it, now I understand better.
I love to hear you say - Your Body will love you! Thanks Doctor! You are always there to give me the encouragement I need in these hot and confusing days. God bless you abundantly!
@@staynurlaneleggett8341 No, it’s because grapefruit blocks an enzyme in your intestines, which alters the way your body metabolizes certain medications. And that can be dangerous.
Wake up. Grapefruit interfere bc they do what the doctors meds do. The doctors want u to take their pills not natural remedies. So if you take their pills plus the grapefruit it gonna be overdose yes interfere.
I'm in SW VA and last summer got wonderful grapefruits from Sam's Club. This summer have yet to see a grapefruit in any of our local stores, I've been looking.
It’s not good if u take any medications it inhibits the CYP34A Gene that breaks down the medicine. The grapefruit inhibits the breakdown of the medicine and so it floats around in the blood and it starts to add up when you take the next dose and so on.
A tip if I may suggest to you is to dehydrate it for a few hours, blend into powder and add a tap to your smoothies. I do this for grapefruit, lemon, orange and mandarin peels. A little bit goes a long way. 💜
Dr Gundry says to peel and de-seed veggies ... as that is where lectins reside. I wonder if this peel/de-seed fruits also applies? I'm headed over to his page to ask! Thanx for your always welcome and helpful input ... you are greatly appreciated.
I always ate the fleshy skin of the grapefruit but I was today years old hearing how beneficial the skin really is. My parents always called me weird lol
Right you are Dr. Mandell, but the white part would be more properly called the "pithe", the peel is great for seasoning your food, the pithe, the white inner part of the peel makes some yummy grapefruit pithe schnitzels, don't believe me check out emmymade here on RU-vid. :)
Great information! I'll get some grapefruit on my next trip to the store. BTW: Your spam is dropping comments all over this video. PEOPLE REPORT, OK?! OK!

Doc my physicians recommend I do not eat grapefruit or drink the juice if you are on cholesterol medications. Please by careful of smoothie from store or juice bars to be sure there is no grapefruit puree in them. Cardiologist told to eat apples.
