I'm a little confused. Are you saying with my homocysteine of 13.5, I should simply supplement, or could benefit from altering my diet, or both? I have degenerative disc disease, and going magnesium supplementation and keto have changed my life (seemingly, so has benfotiamine.) The higher my ketones, the generally better I do. I do have flair-ups, and I take all kinds of supposedly anti-inflammatory substances. WRT eggs (and apparently beef) would I benefit from more or less? Is there a list you trust? PS: You probably know my doctor in Denver, and he didn't say anything about my homocysteine level. 😕 I'm also trying to lower my iron (or rather, RBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit, which are all three high) so I give blood every 10 weeks.

Thank you for recognizing this. My little brother came home from school and said they were teaching him that whole milk was the least healthiest, less healthy than reduced fat milk. I have no degrees but it’s my understanding that you need the fat and the least amount of pasteurization. More fat so there’s more vitamin and mineral absorption, and pasteurization kills more good than bad. Leaving behind lots of DEAD bacteria from pasteurization. Anybody remember when fda was contaminating milk at supermarkets to force them into pasteurization processes? Eventually putting local farmers out of business due to “safety” standards. One time they actually got brought to court because of their evil doings, so when they LOST their case, they just contaminated the same supermarkets milk until they could no longer afford the court fees. It’s almost as if the FDA/EPA are forms of control beyond our comprehension all the way down the the very studies they choose to base their regulations on. You even see it with wild game management in some states with pigs, wolves, and other animals

I eat at least 2 eggs everyday and my cholesterol is: Total cholesterol was 169, Triglycerides 42, HDL 64, VLDL 9, & LDL 96. I just had my Aortic Valve replaced due to a 4-5mm hole in it caused by endocarditis at some time in my life. I’m 61 years old and have lost 150lbs by eating low carb, IF, & OMAD. I went from 321lbs to 170lbs in 2 years, and have maintained it for 2 years - so a total of 4 years. My heart surgeon was amazed at how clean my arteries were. If I hadn’t lost the 150lbs, I don’t know if I would’ve bounced back from the open heart surgery. I’m 13 weeks post surgery and I can perform dumbbell training & cardio training.

My dad has over 20000 chickens on a 120 hectare certified organic citrus farm. They eat a completely organic non-gmo feed. He designed is own mobile home where 300 chickens stay closed in and safe at night to protect them from predators. The mobile home also has close to 50 private “rooms” which each chicken can creep in and lay an egg. They sleep from 6pm - 5am. During the day they roam underneath the citrus trees and hunt the little bugs, eat, drink water, take a sand baths, chase each other and rest. The eggs are sooooo beautiful and quite large. Not to mention extremely tasty. We call them the happiest chickens in South Africa. I believe they truly are because none of them are scared of human interaction.

As someone who is in the commercial egg business, it's true what he says about quality. I've gone to a commercial "organic free range" egg producer barns weekly, and not once did I ever see a chicken outside. Their excuse is that the chickens don't want to go out, yet my personal chickens at home nearly murder me trying to get out everyday. In Canada, only a couple companies run the whole show and run the boards, so they basically do whatever they want, however deceptively they like to do it.

@StatikTiger Lots of protein, and hitting the weights harder. Keep in mind my gains are not crazy. My bench went up 20lbs. Dumbbell inclines up 10lbs. Squat up 30lbs.

I eat 5 eggs for breakfast every morning with Crystal hot sauce, and 1/2 an avocado. I feel full and it gives me ~30g of protein with healthy fat to start my day.

I eat the same, eggs with avocado for breakfast. My cholesterol is perfect and I gained a lot of muscle since I eat more eggs. It is the best protein in the world in my humble opinion. And so many good fats.

Dr. Ekberg, newer listener here. Thank you for your eye-opening content, I've always been a big fan of eating eggs, and haven't cared much for the conventional wisdom regarding recommended cholesterol levels. For my own benefit, and I assume for many others, could you include some studies or sources in the descriptions in future videos? It would help me a lot.

I live in third world country and cannot ascertain what type of eggs we get. However I gain tremendous amount of knowledge through your presentation especially when I started intermittent fasting. I am 66 and I can only follow 168 or 186 If, I had tried omad but started having purplish fingers after the second day. So back to 2 meals and I lost 9 kgs and now I started having some amount of carb and eat 211, ie 2 portions of vegetables, 1 portion of protein and 1 portion of carb and my weight is kept constant and felt super good, I have no more knee pain when walk upstairs! Tqvm Dr Ekberg for painstakingly impart knowledge on us. Keep up with your great work. Thanks again

Its probably simplest for you to buy direct from some farmer. The standards do not apply as well there.

You probably get higher quality eggs lol. In your country importing industrialized tech and food(garbage) that allows chickens to be raised faster is more expensive. Because land is cheaper in ratio to these things.

I just started keto and although I’m in ketosis, I noticed my key tones are very low but my carbs have been very low. However, I realize now that a lot of the proteins that I’ve been eating are not optimal proteins, and that the rest of that protein is getting burned as carbs and preventing more ketones than I should be having I can fix this though, great video. Perfectly timed to help me RU-vid algorithm thumbs up you did well. My mom went on a low cholesterol diet. She would use one egg for two egg whites and she peel the skin off her check and she was very careful to buy the leanest the commercial beef and by the time she was 52 she had all timers she was afraid to eat avocados or nuts because of the fat , she was afraid to eat eggs because of the cholesterol I think the dietary recommendations of the 80s and early 90s really did the population a huge disservice and we need to be careful losing soured because when mistake is made that severe people lose faith in the science at all because the complexity of unreliable early data can result in cataclysmic outcomes like my mom experienced

3 years ago, when I started to become aware of the problems with starch/sugar, I learned from Dr. Sten that excess protein can trigger insuline to some degree. I also learned from him that eggs are a great source of micronutrients. So, my 1st meal (of 2) is mostly eggs and bacon. I use 2 whole eggs plus 2 separated yolks. I've been able to keep my weight at ~160 and the blood tests at my doctor's office have been good.

Protein uses halve the amount of insulin compared with carbs/sugar. Even with fat the pancreas makes insulin only in minimal amount. T1D here so I know
