There is one celebrity that I would have loved to meet and that is Anthony Bourdain. I used to watch his program, No Reservations, on the Travel Channel. I would have loved to travel to far away destinations to try some of the local cuisines of that country. So when coming to Vietnam, I had the opportunity to visit some of the restaurants that Anthony Bourdain visited during his trip to Saigon.
The first location is the Lunch Lady. Being that I’m a big fan of noodles, this was a perfect location for me to visit first. This restaurant was more like a street food vendor. The people working there were all ready to go for their first customers. So when we arrived, it was very quick to get our food. Check out our experience trying Banh Canh Cua for the very first time.
We also went to Bánh xèo 46A, which is another location I really wanted to try. Banh Xeo is another food item I wanted to try and waited to come to this restaurant to try for the first time. This restaurant was in a residential neighborhood, full of life and energy. They also had dining space available outdoors and indoors. Amazing to watch the cooks make banh xeo and work in the very hot conditions. We also got to try Bo La Lot.
I hope you guys enjoy watching this episode. I made this episode as a tribute to Anthony Bourdain and also to try some new Vietnamese food. He made an everlasting impact on food and travel, and I hope people will continue to remember the impact he also had on the countries and restaurants he visited.
Thank you for watching and be sure to hit that like button. We still have more Vietnam food adventures coming, so if you haven't subscribed, now is a good time!

Thanks for your video. The herb you referred to as cilantro is actually coriander. I know sometimes they're used interchangeably, but we also have cilantro in Vietnam, which looks like how it does in North America 🙂. They sell coriander in North America as well.

Cilantro/coriander can be interchangeable or completely different, depending on where you are! Coriander is just for the seeds in North America, but In Australia, coriander is its the leaves too. The sawtooth herb he's talking about during the banh xeo segment is "Ngo gai" in Vietnamese. According to Google, ngo gai translated to "culantro" and "sawtooth herb." To some, ngo gai is also coriander as you say! The coriander herb family is a diverse, delicious one.

I would say Anthony Bourdain's shows were less about the food, and more about the people and culture and food was what they enjoyed

He definitely showcased various countries to the United States through food. I believe food is one of the driving forces that brings curiosity about ones culture.

What is the point of showing all the good foods without telling where is the location/address???? Is it the food just for yourself.

Nothing related to Chinese food, everything is vietnam authentic food sir.

Sorry about that. I honestly don't remember mentioning anything about the food being Chinese. But I know there is a lot of similarities with food from different parts of the world when using rice flour. Thanks so much for watching the video.

Quẩy really is Chinese donut. Please read about "Tần Cối" and "Quẩy". I mean we should respect the origin of somethings so they will do the same to our food
