Goode Company BBQ on Memorial is pretty good. You should try their brisket stuffed potato. Maybe try the Turkey Leg Hut folks always speak on that. I myself haven't tried it yet but the BBQ place is nice I like their food
Babes chicken 2 of them in the DFW area, Round Rock donuts has a giant donut they make with a bucket, chuys, freebirds, or velvet taco all have good TexMex got to have the queso at any of these spots- all in Austin area. If you goin across Texas outside of Waco is a little town called West and they are known for their kolaches , and in Waco is a place called Milk Bottle Cookies they are “like that”. Just some recommendations while you are here, content is A++.
Triple J’s bbq , Mikki’s soul food , crispy kream donuts early in the am when donuts r the freshest, champ burger and last but not least you gotta go see my boy and Houston’s own Bun B at that trill burger don’t leave the H without hitting these spots if possible!
Hello, you could try I have a place you might like it I went and I had a good experience quotes eat drink vibe and then there’s another place in downtown Rose petal they have some good food enjoy yourself in Houston because a lot of hidden places out here. You just gotta continue to look but if I could think of something else, I’ll let you know.

Reason that Bananas joint was probably savory was because of the waffle probably the combo of baking soda and salt in them you said the waffles wasn't sweet at all think they probably focused more on structural food integrity so it wouldn't fall apart in my humblest opinion
