Eating Insects Entomophagy Vending Machine. It sells many kinds of eating insects like Rhinoceros Beetle, Grasshopper, Cricket, Sago Worms and Tarantula. It's my first time eating Tarantula. It's better than I thought. It's like a shrimp snack or crab snack. It's crispy but it has a faint aftertaste like liver. I like crispy texture but I don't like the aftertaste. The price is 3300 yen(29 USD). It's very pricey. Anyway, It's suitable for Halloween snack, isn't it? Happy Halloween!

Wow. I visited the company's website that produces these products. Totally fascinating. Did you know they raise and release young tarantulas back into the wild to replace the adults that are captured? Cool.

That siren in the background when you were paying for it felt like it was for the machine lol I'm not that scared of spiders (except for tarantulas because of ACNH) but something about dead ones just gives me the creeps and the thought of them springing to life when you think they're dead.

I find tarantulas cute, I had one go up my arm at an exhibit in Toronto. Huntsman spiders however, those are the scariest. Never encountered one but I have friends who have. One of them walked into their washroom and it was on the ceiling. I've seen pictures of them and the pictures alone scare the ctap out of me. **crap

I've had fried meal worms and chocolate covered crickets and they were good, but I don't think I could do a tarantula. I used to have one as a pet and he got me over my arachnophobia. I couldn't eat that cause I'd thinks of him.😢🕷

Well that's unusual. I'm glad you didn't choose the scorpion. I feel badly for the tarantula because I'm wondering how they process it. I would have feed it to my cat.

Ohhhh, why didn't I watch the chocolate bread video instead? GAK! You're a WAY more adventurous eater than I. sir. There's two things about this I don't like--one that it's a tarantula (shudder) and two, that it has a liver aftertaste. Don't much care for liver so in this case two strikes and YERRR OUTTA HERE!!! LOL! Off to watch the chocolate bread video now...

You're brave! I personally wouldn't be able to eat something that still has legs and features. I think eating bugs could be beneficial because they're very sustainable livestock, but I think I'd only be able to eat them ground up, like the snack bars they make out of crickets.

I've seen Safiya's video where she bought larva from a vending machine in Japan and that was already weird enough for me but seeing this..... a whole tarantula.... even tho it's dried and all shriveled up, it's still..... weird.

Interesting video a very unusual vending machine wow that something you don't see always. I understand eating insects can be sort of protein for the body in the US its quite common among Entomologist groups even in some Asian countries eats insects in their local dishes. The only insect I have ever eaten were chocolate covered crickets. Not willingly but I was tricked into eating them by my cousin. Although I would never eat them again because the thought of eating insects just doesn't go for me, the chocolate covered cricket tasted very nutty. Like chocolate with nuts. Not bad, but unless I'm tricked again into eating them I can't bring myself to eat it.

I'm afraid of spiders..to this day I can't even kill them..and or be in the same room as one, it freaks me out. Growing up I used to scream for my dad, so he could kill them..or release the spider outside.. I honestly know they are good for the environment but still freaks me out. /: 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️

You can buy all of these by the gram in a few countries .Bugs are big snak items in Laos vietnam and thailand

If I were to eat one, it would have to be chopped up and mixed with other stuff and hidden in a dumpling or something. I know they are packed with protein and are a staple diet for many people. And I respect that. But I just couldn't eat it in its true form. Lol

Of course.... If is it neighbor country that produces exotic products😅 Well for me as a Malaysian I only bravery to eat Sago worms because it come from Sago Palm and also can eat grasshopper if I have a chance to try ones 😁

That vending machine seems pretty expensive for what looks like not a lot of insects per bag. I guess they're sold as more of a novelty than as an actual food item? I've known people who eat dried and seasoned insects as a snack pretty regularly here in the US, though even with that said it's not super common to see.
