Nostalgic foods from our childhood is such an immediate dejavu trigger for specific memories. I often eat things that dont even taste that good on paper but for some reason it just gives me a hug.
First of all, that pie looked GOOD! If I lived near you I'd be phoning in a pick-up order right now. I used to do Boboli all the time. I'd use Prego Chunky Mushroom and Bell Pepper sauce, shredded Longhorn and Jack Cheese, Italian Salami and after it was out of the oven, topped it off with Kraft Stinky Cheese and Red Pepper Flakes. Thanks for the memory blast Sean, have a great weekend.
Yea, had those a bunch in the 90s. Always used the smaller personal sized one with the Boboil brand little pizza sauce packets and just cut big slices of mozzarella instead of shredded. But they have changed sizes and shapes over the years. They are definitely a lot flatter than they used to be. But they do taste very similar to the original ones. Also, the Kraft cheese is a must if you have pepperoni it soaks up all the grease and makes it less messy.
Yes!! I still do pizza with Boboli in a pinch. Just standard sauce, mozz, pepperoni, and sawdust! I also add banana peppers and drizzle some Mikes Hot Honey before putting in the oven!
I remember them ... Easy and delicious when I was a kid. I used the personal size (3 in one pack) and made bbq chicken with red onion. I'm going to have to pick up a pack. Thank you for the video
Oh, there is always a green plastic can of what I call shaky cheese in the fridge at Casa Anderson. I haven't had Boboli in AGES. WOW. This is a trip in the wayback machine.😊👍🍕🍕
I remember begging my mom for Boboli in the grocery store but she never bought them because they were too expensive. If she was making "homemade" pizza it was gonna be Chef Boyardee.
My first job was as a bagger at Farmer Jack in 1988. I still have my FJ Bonus savings club card even though they closed in 2007. Still miss shopping there.
wow. i am in awe to know that Boboli is still a thing. I followed the same recipe as a teen in the late 90s as you mentioned. Want to gather all this for memory's sake. Just so simple and tasty
I tried to grab a boboli pizza crust the other day and my wife said it was cheaper to buy the pizza dough in the biscuit can. Lol! So I still haven't had one since I was a kid lol! When I was a kid I loved making these with my folks
Never tried the Boboli. Love, love, love putting the Kraft Parmesan to zhuzh it up. I have been experimenting on making my own dough lately. On a totally unrelated subject, what size T-shirt are you?
Best italian bread shell ever, also the only one. I still don't mind that sauce. Could be the nostalgia glasses, or the fact that it is still affordable.
When I was growing up we called it, “stinky feet cheese.” As a little dude I asked a waitress where the stinky feet cheese was because there wasn’t any on the table. My dad blamed me for not getting refills of his drink for five minutes, but that’s what we called it at home!
All I need is a old TMNT movies released in the early 90s or the animated series which I have on DVD plus some breadsticks and very delicious ❤ it 2 👍 up
I think I tried to make a breakfast pizza with one of those once(scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, sausage, country gravy) the crust was too thick, it was ok though
Never tried Boboli in my life. I learned how to make actual pizza bagels from my friend's mom and when we wanted a pizza snack that is what we would make in the toaster oven.
I GREW UP, GOT MARRIED, GOT DIVOCED. NOW I AM 18 AGAIN!!!! WELCOME BACK TO 1989!!!! AND ENJOYING MY NEW LEASE ON LIFE!!!! AMYBE I WILL GROW UP SMEDAY!!! LOL!!1
Want to step up your "homemade" pizza to the next level? Get one of those jars of minced garlic in oil and brush it onto the crust before you add the sauce.
Not you, but that 90s where a different era for sure. You are great though, so to be clear I mean the 90s commercial. You would be arrested for that one today.
i bet neither the sauce nor the crust is *anything* like it was a few decades ago...all the major corporate formulas/recipes get jacked around every few years for a variety of reasons, but always ultimately in the name of profit.
