To add to this comment. I would very very strongly avoid a strong full-bodied oak-aged wine that was aged for a long time. Something fresher would pair much better with dates and seeds. The oakiness of an aged wine would overpower the light seeds. I would also rather add honey since she is already drinking it with vinegar. Perhaps a light rose would be nice.

She's right you know. There was less waste. However if you lived in Rome, your water was supplied by the aqueduct, so you had more water than anyone else on the planet. Rome had water out the waz. Water means health, wealth, joy, luxury, and status. The Romans knew this.

The other cooks are Romanian and say that back in the day, her grandmother was cooking some cakes on fire that tasted exactly like the Libum cakes. The taste is so similar that she got goosebumps after trying the Libum. And the way she describes how her grandmother cooked them, it's exactly how people would cook in the past, in the countryside in Romania.
