We went for an evening hike at the Eau Claire Gorge Conservation Area, in Calvin, Ontario, near Mattawa. This was great activity for us as we camped at nearby Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park. This 1.9km loop trail offers stunning views of rapids on the Amable du Fond River.

Did you guys not go down to the lower viewing area for the falls? There is a trail down to a spot where you can look straight on towards the waterfall!

We followed the trail all the way around! Guess we'll have to return! It's a really neat place.

@@CampingAcrossOntario It is a nice place! The side trail I'm talking about is right near the lookout area. Just as you leave that area and start heading east down the river, a steep trail takes you down to a viewing area just past the falls.
