Its been one year since we installed and reviewed the Ebay fuel pressure regulator on our ls swapped C10. So I decided to do a 1 year review and answer some questions from the first video.

This is just what I needed to hear! I've got a '91 Mazda MX-6, and I replaced the FPR with what must have been the last OEM equivalent part five months ago. I had to take the intake manifold off and clean out the EGR valve and the EGR ports through the manifold,and when I put it back together the FPR was squirting fuel out the EGR Solenoid, which is why I replaced it in the first place. This video gives me the needed confidence to go ahead and fit the dirt cheap FPR I purchased.

Just for informational purposes a lot of those regulators have a 6an and 0RB. You can actually take a 6an to 8an drill out the restriction with a good drill press and bit getting the internal size of the 8AN and make a 6an flow like at eight internally. P.m. me if you would like to see pictures

I use same product and use the hose and fittings on my daily driver for 2 years driving from Germany. Not knowing the difference between other AN fittings and what to look for. I didn't know so I just fitted what came with. No leaks issues or otherwise.

This why I love the $300 and $500 versions. Companies over engineer and complicate simple things and parts. Or just straight up over charge. I don’t always trust eBay or Chinese crap, but when build right and a simple product. I trust it and 90% of the time it ends up working just fine.

Replace the diaphragm with aeromotive part and it's just as reliable, old news these regulators have been used and in service for 5 years and almost zero failure rate aside from the diaphragm.

Honestly I was shocked that it lasted as long as it did. I sold that truck almost two years ago and as far as I know it’s STILL working.

Thank you good video I needed to know if that would work for low pressure like 5 PSI and you stated that it work for fuel-injected engines only and I appreciate that saved me money and time thanks again from Rolan 64

Thanks for watching Roland! I actually have another eBay regulator that should be here any day now for carb applications. It claims to be adjustable from 3-30psi and be able to handle the flow of a high output in tank pump. If you haven’t subscribed you may want to and click the notification bell as I’ll be testing this regulator on the new Nova project with an in tank Walbro 255.

just saying i use harbor freighty the only clear air hose in the store for fuel line on an atv and love it same material as the crap the ultra light air plane guys use but with webbing for strength

I believe it. Wouldn’t last long at 58psi but I’m sure it works great for small engine or carb setups. 👍🏻

I run one on my sbc changed the spring running 6 psi with return on my car its a e36 bmw using the bmw feul injection pump

Yea this was one of the eBay parts I’ve had better luck with. Thing worked great for over a year till I sold the truck

Do you need to run a vacuum line to the regulator on the deadhead style system? Im working on installing a gt45 turbo on my mustang but is returnless system

Ad says it will go to zero. Mine won't stop building pressure. Even with the screw ran down with the impact

On the A online shopping theres another regulator which has two lines and a guadge with vaccumn line, a review on this would be nice since people are using on low pressure mowers. Theres no instructions but knowing from the past helped

I’m not sure what regulator you’re referring to but I have a new style China regulator that comes with springs for both low or high pressure setups that I’ll be installing and reviewing on the new CHAOS THEORY project.

If it works out it will be a great solution since it’s only $25 and is capable of use with carbs AND efi. We’ll see how it goes.

Okay thank you I will the car I'm considering going with the regulator with is a 1964 Impala 327 every since I installed the new fuel pump I'm having issues idles just fine in neutral and park soon as I go into gear I lose RPMs at idle

Just remember when dealing with a carburetor and automatic transmission, you set your idle speed with the vehicle in gear and foot on the brake, not in park or neutral. Unlike fuel injection, the carb doesn't have the ability to compensate. So you will have a bit faster idle out of gear in an automatic car than in a manual trans car.

Thx for directing me to the update! I wish i had seen these vids b4 i bought mine, but i'm still glad i got it, started installing it this morning. After watching your vid, i went out and bought teflon tape and nylon o rings for it, now everything is tight. I'm going to keep the crappy AN fittings it came with, i have a buddy who uses them on several builds, he never had an issue, if they dont work, i'll swap em. I also watched your steam port vid a while back, that one was good too! I'll be checking out more as I work on my swap. Have you ever used a swirl pot? I'm currently trying to figure out if i should run one.

I think another name for it is a "radiator catch can", It's an additional canister that you install between your vent tube and overflow (it's a little more complicated than that though) and it allows self bleeding of the cooling system. There's not a lot of good info on them out there, but i've seen a few LS swapped cars running them.

Yea I just run a standard overflow(autozone special). Never had any issues with it. Just follow the proper fill procedure for the LS engines and you shouldn’t have any trapped air to worry about. 👍🏻

Hey what failed on your old regulator? Did you not get enough fuel pressure when they go out? I put a 450 pump in my suburban and I’m only getting 40 psi on my Amazon regulator so I’m thinking maybe that went bad.

Which “old regulator” are you referring to? I’ve probably went through more regulators than most people have underwear.

Hi u say about deadhead reg . I don't want to use the return as well . Bit can u turn a normal ebay one into a dead head. So u just block one of the ports on the regulator

That’s not how it works brother. It’s dead headed at the rail, not at the regulator. Watch the original regulator video to see how I hooked it up. 😉

Does the regular actually boost the pressure? I understand it keeps it a constant pressure, but does it actually create more pressure going through? I'm not being a smart ass it's a serious question. Thanks

It’s adjustable so you set the pressure where you need it. And it also has a boost reference port that can be used to increase pressure with boost which is sometimes needed. The original review and install video has more specific info. This video was just intended as an update to show how long it has lasted.

I already answered this on your other comment brother. There is no backflow valve in a fuel pressure regulator. If it is not holding pressure with the key off it is your pump not the regular.

There are multiple ways to run a regulator. If you go back and watch the original video, I show different ways to install it. This is simply a one year update video.

I have a 1987 chevy caprice with LS1 swapped in it. I used the corvette style regulators with the 255 walbro pump for about 5 months then it started give weird noises which resulted in the engine won’t start. Replaced the regulator thinking it was clogged but no luck. I end up replacing the pump with AEM one I believe it was 340 lph if I’m not mistaken and it worked fine for a month with the corvette regulator I replaced. After that the car started to have performance issues like it is misfiring from dead stop.checked the fuel pressure it was 40 either engine on or off. The pump sounds good and I’m sure of the in tank connections. I think the regulator is bad. What do you think? Thanks

Hard to say. I know the vette filter regulator works fine with a 255 but can’t handle a 450. I’ve never tried it with a 340 so I really can’t give you any real world input. But it does sound like you’re either having regulator issues or possibly the feed line is leaking in the tank.

I almost replaced the pump but I decided to test the pump outside the tank while it’s on the sending unit, I almost had fuel in my eyes from a leaking hose. It was a short hose and it slipped a little bit from the fuel line. I replaced it with a longer one and will try it tomorrow because I need someone to help me with installing the tank back. Yes sir and good luck. I actually have an older video showing me testing two different brand Vette filter regulator with a Walbro 450 to show how they overrun the regulator. That video actually lead to me testing and using this regulator. 👍🏻 I’d like to hear back if you don’t mind once you find out for sure if the Vette regulator is able to hold the proper 58psi with the 340 pump if you don’t mind. I was actually debating going with one in the Chinavette project.

Actually I forgot to mention that I got a holley regulator because I thought it’s the regulator but it still gave me 40 psi after that I pulled out the pump and found the leaking hose

Going with the vette regulator was from simplicity standpoint where i just installed it directly on the ls1 fuel rail

This regulator wont work with walbro hellcat pump. It wont Flow enough. 60psi is minimum pressure when adjust Bolt is all the way out. So pressure is too high. There is only 3mm hole inside the regulator where fuel goes to return port.

Did you ever solve the issue with the fuel pressure regulator? I have a walbro hellcat pump as well that I haven't installed yet... What can I in this situation?

@@ticojason8868 it didnt work with that regulator,i try to even drill the hole bigger under the ballbearing which close the return but still didnt flow enough. So i buy this regulator and this one work and pressure can be adjusted low enough. Honestly I’m not sure but judging from the fuel pouring out I assumed the diaphragm ruptured. The car it was on was already for sale and I never fixed it. Just lowered the price. For the amount of money I payed for it and the fact it only lasted about 6 months, I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. I could have bought four of these eBay regulators for the same price and so far the eBay regulator has lasted twice as long.

The fuel pump doesn't regulate itself. Remove the factory regulator and replace it with whatever aftermarket regulator you choose.I have another video showing an example.

There are several guys running these with e85 that I’ve seen in different forums and Facebook pages but I’m not sure how long the rubber diaphragm would last. I know some aeromotive parts are interchangeable with these so may be possible to get an e85 compatible diaphragm from them and put it in.

@@BadLuckGarage hey I got one and Corvette regulator and fuel is still to high at the fuel rails the fuel regulator before fuel rails will not turn down and do I need to have a vacuum line on it

You have the regulator in the bed and you turbo'd your truck and you didn't add a manifold reference to accommodate the boost pressure ... If you run 20 pounds of boost and your truck is set for 58 psi .. your are actually leaning out your truck in boost because you don't have a reference for manifold pressure . Now you have 38 PSI that can overcome the boost.... . I am wondering why you haven't blown the truck up yet ? ADD manifold reference if you turbo .

More than one way to skin a cat brother. The injectors are way larger than I needed so I simply compensated in the tune and AFRs are steady at 11.2 WOT. If I had run out of injector while I was tuning it then I would definitely have added a reference line. But I didn’t so there was no need. 😉
