eBay Power Supply kit build part 1
In this video we do all of the soldering of components to the PCB and test out it's function with a 12VAC transformer. In the final part we will add a fan and heatsink to the main switching transistor and mount the assembly in a project box with a nice volts and Amp display.
We are giving away this power supply once it's complete. To enter the drawing, you must be a subscriber and share a video from this channel on another site. Post a link below where you shared the video and you will be entered. The drawing will be held on 30 2017.

My TL081s do not have the notch that is shown on the pc board. There is in fact a small circle molded into the top of the IC package, I am assuming that this circle indicates the SAME END OF THE PACKAGE THAT THE NOTCH DOES. AM I CORRECT?

I have built a number of these kits but now I'm trying to wire an ebay special amp/volt meter but I dont know where to wore the large red wire from the current . I'm using a 24 vac transform step down from 110ac can you help with possibly a schematic showing the power supply as I'm not very fluent with wiring schematics. I am teaching myself these thing via youtube lol

Use the small 10 turn pot to adjust to zero volts with V pot turned all the way down.

Sooo how did you fix the negative 0.5 voltage reading, and how did you make your led turn off? Mine is constantly on and i can't find the reason

U need to use a center tap transformer! It is a must! It needs -v to make it go to 0v .

WHAT IS THE DEVICE DESIGNATED d882 I LEFT MY ONE OFF WITH THE IDEA TO PUT IT ON A SEPARATE HEAT SINK , BUT I HAVE NOW LOST IT AND THE PSU IS COMPLETED WITHOUT D882. CAN YOU PROVIDE ANY DETAILS PLEASE. MoK

George Chambers no new iron, that's the same one from my Cheapest Chinese Soldering Station video. Lol I think the Bridgeport might be a little overkill.

A Bridgeport is never overkilling! I use my milling machine for cutting project boxes every time, You can't beat the precision with much else. However you go about it I'm sure it will be nicely done.

OK, you sold me on using the bridgeport. What cuts plastic better 2 or 4 flute endmill?

I've had the best luck with 2 flute endmills. A slow feed, not too slow, and a medium RPM works for me. Watch for the plastic melting and not getting chips. Good luck!

can i use my laptop adaptor around 19volts instead of transformer?

No, you can't. Because your laptop adaptor gives you 19v direct current, and you need 24v ac current.

I haven't looked into that. This is a 3A PSU plenty of power for anything you would want to do at home.

sometimes i need to power led/bulb and they mainly consume 4 amp and I want to give some headroom so 5amp with current limit is my need & i hope you can find something to help me out & thx for the videos & reply keep it up.

Electronic projects This power supply and any power supply is going to be limited by it's weakest component. So beefing up one component will not reliably beef up the whole. You could however run 2 of these in parallel for 6A overhead.

gartmorn If n = the number of pieces of electronic gear you own at present. Then the correct number of pieces of electronic gear you should own is always n+1.

The LED is the constant current indicator. When it's on, your in constant current mode.

They give you connectors to mount on the board and leads to remote the pots.

This circuit and kit is based on a very old design and has many issues, So It always ends in frustration and disappointment, as shown in many forums, So if you want a good Lab power supply then don't waste your time. I say look elsewhere. Period.
