I just found this video and I thought it was Bobby Hatfield. Then I thought he looks different than I remember him. Then I saw the name and my jaw dropped. This video is so amazing I'm not ashamed to say it had me in tears. This will be one of my favorites forever. It is probably the most fantastic voice I ever heard in my life. And I've been listening to music for about 55 years since I was a kid.
Well done Paul, you did very well. Your range is similiar to Bobby's. It's so nice to hear the music from the 60' s. It was so nice to hear the music, classic songs that Bobby recorded and or live performances.
I was scared at first, when I came across this video. It takes a lot of nerve to try to compete with a performance like Bobby Hatfield did on this song. The bar is so high. But Salvage pulled it off perfectly. Absolutely perfect. He did justice to the Righteous.
I just discovered Paul a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to stop listening to his beautiful, soothing voice. Every single note is right on and he never waivers from perfection. This has always been in my top five favorite songs and he does it great justice. Wish I'd heard of him years ago and I wish he was still recording. Beautiful, beautiful voice!
It s also because the sound system is top line! Without a good sound system he would sound crappy. Still I know he has a great pitch when singing! So wonderful!

I am blown away by the beauty and power of this voice I have never heard and want to know WHY in God's name I have never seen or heard you before this day? I never met him in person, but I wrote to Leslie through his agent a couple of times just before he died in 1996 and he wrote back both times. He was THE true gentleman of Saturday night TV. Stuff Simon Cowell!!!

Leslie Crowther was a great man a gentleman and an excellent speaker, I had the pleasure of his company on a number of occasions including one of many of his charity fundraisers in late 1992, where he excelled as speaker. he is surely missed.
I never thought anyone could top Bobby, but I think in this case Paul Salvage has managed it. Amazing performance, can't understand why he's not famous.
All these years later, it's strange we've never heard anything in his own right from this amazing vocalist. Close your eyes and your could be listening to Bobby.

I was expecting Bobby Hatfield's most wonderful voice, I got Paul Savage, who did such a noble job it also blew me away how he could carry this song. He also has an incredible voice, thoroughly enjoyed it, but it wasn't Bobby, it was close but it just didn't hit my heart. Wonder why?
