Reading through the comments I came away with the thought that once in this country tribe was secondary to our basic humanity. We were one in music, in national aspirations and goodwill to one another. Can’t we have that nation back? I am Yoruba, but the music that turned my life around permanently and irreversibly was the Voice of Cross by brother Lazarus and Emmanuel, Igbos. My cousin bought the album in Aba while coming from Calabar where his parents were living and presented it to me as Christmas gift. That was 1984. I’m not sure how many albums alter the course of people’s lives the way this album altered mine. Fundamentally we’re same people under God with a mandate to build a nation that will be the pride of Africa and the black race everywhere. We have the education, native intelligence, intellectual drive, energy, resources and manpower to do this. May the Lord restore us again to our first love.
The people who killed that Nigeria are those who would like to lay claim to other people's region, while not even allowing any reciprocity in their region. These talk about One-Nigeria, but it is all talk. It is only one Nigeria when they're buying up and laying claims to other people's land. Nigeria can NEVER be one as long as we have that thinking, attitude, and behavior.
My amiable late Dad fondly called folks in our village back in the old good days by the name Ebenezer as " Ebenezer Obey". Thus in reverence to the great Obey, we grew up calling anyone bearing the name Ebenezer as Obey in our locality; Ebonyi State
Am Nigerian🇳🇬, born in togoland🇹🇬 and grew up there. In those days, I was tired listen to it.my father used to play it every morning. But now that I grow up and understand life I enjoy it.
Sunny Ade is very good. I love Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey's music more. For me Chief Ebenezer's music is richer and deeper. I grew up with his music as a teenager in Nigeria. It penetrates my soul!

Greatest chief Obey When l met my husband in the 70's We still together with the old gadgets we love you hada friend who translated to our language to us We are Ghanaians
I am glad this has exceeded one million viewers. Awesome reminder of by-gone safe Nigeria where everyone was a family without the awful divide, poverty of the mind and wickedness of Nigeria and some Nigerians today. Grass is not greener on the other side and one day the offspring of our looters will not taste the goodness destined for Nigeria. Amen
I listened to this song as I sat outside looking at elderly men enjoying their beer in the beer parlor shop in our house waiting for my mum return from the hawking of her wares Seeing her return gives me the happiest feelings on earth feeling same way rightnow😀
I'm from Rep. Of Benin. I have been grew up with Obey's music bcos He was my father's best musician. RIP Daddy and thank you, cos you did my education through a good music. I hope long live to the big Ebenezer

We will rock this till the end of time. What are you listening to nowadays?, music that does not make sense, exposure to bad things, unimaginable things one can. never thought of, is that one you listen to these days that you call music?, may be you don't have people of the 60s, 70s, even 80s that is why you are asking who still listens to this at this time. This worth listening to pls. It has really made my day.
Baba God bless you .I love you from my infant the multitude of angels will give you more inspiration to give us inspiring music. God bless you daddy. Long life and prosperity.
My dad was an Urhobo, but all Ebenezer Obey album. This is one of my favourite. Missing my parents so much. We always enjoyed this together. God bless you baba.
I can and will not getting tired of listening to Chief Ebenezer Obey songs. They are full of wisdom. May God grant you health and thank you for providing so many great songs.
iI was my fathers DJ setting and operating the turn table ,speakers and amplifier any time there was any party or ocassion in the late 70s,80s and 90s.His favourite Obey amongst host of others: Haruna ishola,IK dairo,YK Ajao,Admiral Dele Abiodun,Kayode Fashola,Sunny Ade,Orlando
2021, who's here? So many memories with the songs. My father passed in 2020. He used to play these songs on the turntable. We never appreciated them then now we understand better. Thank you Pa Ebenezer for making such golden music.
Grew up listening and dancing to this music. The key word "ota mi deyin Leyin mi", is so unfortunately representative of partly today Nigeria. May our enemies not consume us!
This is a Nigerian classic, as enjoyable today as it was almost 5 decades ago. One needs not be Yoruba or understand Yoruba language to enjoy this beauty. Oh my gosh, it reminds me of Kaduna of my childhood in the 1970s.
This is by far my favorite Obey song and probably among my best 10 songs of all time. I love Obey, even more as a child. I grew up to this song as a boy from Edo state and instantly felt a bond inside each time I heard the music play. It's still fresh on my mind how I would stand still to listen to the entire song on my way before continuing on any errand for my dad. In those days, what a bright moment it was to sit around my Dad while he interprets the meaning of this and many of Obey;s songs. Truly a legend! When they say, "good old days", this is what they mean! Thank God for Obey!!
Cue here if you are listening to this music in 2021. God bless Daddy Ebenezer Obey. My late parents music and it just bring me back to my childhood days.
I am who i am today listening to this song....Kudos to all Nigeria icons in music...KSA,CRIST ESSIEN IGBOKWE,EDNA OGHOLI,OYENKA OWENU,OBEY AND PPP...LOVE 💘 THEM ALL
Strange reading the comments. people from Ghana, ibo, Hausa, Edo, etc speaking highly of Obeys music and him as a man... how i wish we have him as president of glue together that sense of pride we once have as a nation, rather than the terrorists, dividers and evil doers we have in power now
When I was growing up in the 70s my dad will play his turn table record player with songs especially in the likes of Obey. We always murmured to ourselves wondering what our father was listening to. Fast forward to now...I can't believe Obey music is what I listen to on occasions. What baffles me is the fact that I know his songs word to word! Obviously daddy wasn't the only one resonating with the music then. Thank you sir for sharing your classical talent with us!
Good music brings people together, evergreen musics bring generations to an assembly such as this. Am happy to learn even my Igbo brothers and sisters can relate with this in 2021. topekush
Ever green melody...there is non compared to chief Ebenezer's philosophy of life. This man is just GREAT...RESPECT SIR. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. Remain blessed.
What more can I say about this great man that has not already been said. Bless you Sir Obey! Thank you for the joy you brought to so many hearts with your brand of music. Good music knows no tribe, race or creed and if music be the food of love, and in this case it is, therefore play on my brother!
Ur music sir bring back memory of good old days, moreover ur looks and soft spoken nature of ur remind me of my late dad who is resting in peace, he was a stunt fan of your music likewise my Precious Mum who is also resting in the blossom of almighty. I remain a fan forever, may the Lord elongate your life.
Good day everyone everything said about this great and iconic artist. Am from Delta state but born& bred in Lagos. What's amazing about his music is whatever your situation in life you'll definitely find an album from obey's collection that will be uplifting from his composition & lyrics. Furthermore when am listening to his music it reminds me of the good old days in Lagos not what it is today.
Yesssss ooohh Baba COMMANDER. ...... Our people say "THE WORDS OF OUR ELDERS ARE WORDS OF WISDOM "......This is reflected in this song of yours. Thank you BABA COMMANDER
My friend Emeka who owns an electronic shop back in the days at the post office market in Maiduguri when Borno was home of peace, he loves to listen to this song early mornings lol.. missed him and missed Naija.
As an Igbo man, I don't understand Yoruba language but the rythym of this song makes great sense to me. Such wisdom is rare to find in the foolishness of today's musicians you sing a lot of rubbish and still make money out of it.
Your music is symbolic! Whenever I listen to Chief Ebenezer Obey's music, it reminds me of those good days with my Late Dad, the unrepentant fan of Ebenezer Obey. Chief Ebenezer Obey is a bundle of blessing to this world!
Ever green Ebenezer obey long may u live .. anytime I feel sad ..I just play ur song and I just feel better ..may God bless you more..in good health ..I will ever remain ur #1fans ..all the way from Aachen Germany 🇩🇪 🇩🇪
Waoh this reminds me my days of growing up in Ibadan in 80s. Sir Obey music made my days those days as a growing kid in Ibadan, the good days of Nigeria, when there is less hate amongst Nigerians of different ethnic group.
