Akanni Dokunmu ti ku. God rest his soul. I saw him in his white Rolls Royce Bodija Estate circa early 70s Ibadan. He smiled and was driven away by his chauffeur. I stood there speechless for minutes. A remarkable presence he was.
My first recollection of any music was by Ebenezer Obey's. My dad played different tracks for different occasions. I love it especially when played during Naming Ceremonies - it was fun time and pamper time. Love the attention showered on me by all my many aunties and uncles at the Ceremonies and days after.before they all go back to their respective homes...Miss those time. Thanks Baba Obey for making those years memorable.
Koiki Media, our hero, making waves in current Yoruba emancipation drive is the son of late socialite Omotayo Koiki mentioned in this record. Boy, oh boy, Yorubas are certified omo jaiyejaiyes lol. Hands down.
As a child growing up within the elite class of Nigeria at the time, my late mom used to listen to Obey’s songs. I hated the songs then because I felt it was too local. But today, I value Obey’s songs more than ever.
How can you listen to this and you are not inspired to get up and dance! Too bad for our younger generation. They don't really know what they are missing.
There is more to Cheif Commander Songs to me than just listening and enjoying music. I believe we have very much in common before coming to this world. I can't listen to his songs without tears rolling down my cheeks. I stop listening to his song during work because so many people will keep asking me if all is well with me... I can't put myself together. it breaks me to the bone marrow....
There is no day my dad will not listen to EGS of Chief Ebenezer Obey, now as an adult, I cannot go a-day off without cool music of Obey song, all his music are perfect, cool, and of good memories, evergreen.

Super glorious music produced by a complete "gentle man". Ebenezer Obey is a full package of blessings to this generation, and those yet unborn. Obey's music comforts me on all sides. I crave to meet him in person. May you live longer baba commander!
I thank God Almighty for the day Obey's parents gave birth to him. I have been so blessed by Obey's music. Got to know his music as early as the late sixties and up till now I can't do without his music. May God bless you even more, beyond your imagination.
Obey is it for me any day. Gives me fond memories of my growing up years. Very philosophical and spiritual songs. Anytime I have a tough task ahead of me, all I need do is listen to a couple of Obey songs and I'm good to go.
God we pray that the days off music retore and relocate to the past ways of good music that teaches lessons and bring sence of human and unity. And anyone who listen to this now say amen and hit like.

Vintage Ebenezer Obey! I had the opportunity of seeing him perform live courtesy of my late family friend and neighbour who was his rhythm guitarist, late Mr Abiodun Koleosho. His music was very philosophical and had a message for everybody.
Where has the time gone? In 1976, my dad bought a brand new Renault car, every weekend on the way to Ijebu listening to this music brings back memories. Thanks baba miliky.

I just wish that Chief Commander and King Sunny Ade will do an album or even a track together. It will be a major hit, even now. They need to do something together, forget supremacy fight. That's a legacy they should leave behind before they depart. They are both KINGS!!!
Yes, i agree. They should do an album together. It will be the greatest hit of their lifetime. May God grant them many more years on earth , in good health in Jesus name i pray. Amen.
May God grant you long life. I remember when you released this album when I was at teachers college. We used the song in xmas party those days. The lyric, melody and the wisdom of God passing across I can not forget. It was very amazing one of my son was playing one of ur album in a car one day telling me ,he develop interest in ur songs cos it is meaningful. I told him yes. You lay a good legacy for all yet to born children. Love you sir. I pray many off springs will follow ur steps and build on rock to emulate ur melodious styles.
My dad used to play these songs and all other Obey's songs in the early 90's from his radiogram 🤣..gives me my dad's memory every time. I still vibe to them heavy. My son will vibe to them too. 🤣.
my dad made me like obey, we would listen to series of obey cassettes from oyo to oshogbo his place of work in his Nissan bluebird. listening to it now on my own brings good memories
Baba miliki's music impacted me severely, one of such is my proficiency in speaking the Yoruba language with ease, garnished with a lot of idiomatic expressions. Thanks to my dad who will during weekends play obey's music throughout the day , on his grundig radiogram😃😃
