Yes, it is that good. Aside from intentional damage, I don't see it ripping.The vertical pockets are accessible via top zipper and lengthwise zipper. This allows access to the compartment w/out having to unpack the compartment. Another thing I REALLY like is the way the bulk of the weight in the pack rests on the small of your back/hips which pretty much eliminates shoulder strain. But to answer your question I'd be really surprised if you were able to wear this pack out from normal use.

Have an original Skycrane, it ROCKS. Without water,I am at about 95#'s. But, it doesn't feel like that much. I could EASILY live for two weeks on what's in the pack. This does include a weapon and ammo. So,if I took a pig or deer, I could go for a month easily. Wish I'd had one of these when I was in the Corps.The BEST backpack system I have ever worn.Can't say enough good things about the superlative design, materials and peerless construction of Eberlestock gear. Only stuff I'll use :)

I have had a fac track for 15 years. zero damage. That includes deployment and environments in alaska and deserts around the world.

Hi. Please clarify what appears to be a discrepancy? Eberlestock's website lists the V69 Destroyer as 3,200 cubic inches - not the 6,200 cubic inches stated here. It also lists its V90 Battleship as 6,100 Cubic Inches, not the 8,000 cubic inches stated here.

These packs are built with some of the best fabric available. Eberlestock is number one because of the quality. If you overload one 150-200 lbs you could break a buckle of zipper but rarely the material. It is warranted for life from manufacturer defects. Appreciate your comments. Santana

Just a correction to this video. The Skycrane 2 is rated at 4500 ci WITH the little brother. Without the little brother it is rated as 2000 ci with a metric but ton of dead space that can be used in a number of ways. It can be expanded with a separate pouch to roughly 5800-6000 ci. My obvious choice is eberlestock and the sky crane. It is 8000 cubic inches, and will haul your heavy loads. Makes a great 5 to 7 day pack when loaded right. It does seem to have more compartments then other packs, a superior harness, with unmatched padding and ventilation, and the capability to add several accessories if needed. It will literally haul more than most men can carry. Take in the consideration of pricing, and in my opinion it is the best choice.

Did 2.5 Miles up hill at Palm Springs Tram with War Hammer Pack. The material on the lumbar support sux balls It bites and will rip the hell out of ur skin when ur pack is truly loaded. BUT damn thing rides like a champ.. Love the pack design all except for that material..

first off you say you can add a g1 little brother to the skycrane for an extra 3000ci....first the g1 is only 1800 2nd the g1 comes with the skycrane and that is 4,475ci...you can add the super spike duffel to add 2900...next the battleship is 6100 not 8000ci and the destroyer is not 6200ci it's 3600ci...wow right on the terminator xl but 900ci off on the terminator it's only 4100ci not 5000ci and about 3lbs off target on the weight for both packs.g4 little closer 4700 not 5000....dragonfly is 4900 not 2900....I could go on but i'm exhausted use cue cards with all the right info before you go and mis-inform people.

im looking for 8000 plus. I know its heavy but im looking for my Uhaul.. the bag i can take and goaway for a LONG time.. im debating between the sky crane, the mystery ranch nice 7500 (like this for going over body armor) the TT range pack g82, and the kirafu EMR... of these four companies, (or maybe another company if you know of better) which one is going to be best for the extremly heavy loads, and which is going to last the longest under those conditions?

Eberlestock has misrepresented the functioning on the Phantom pack, pulling the scabbard off gives you a pack that has no back padding, it is not functional for long range use despite what they say. Tanner says one thing, Austin at customer service another.

Made in Taiwan with a "Made in USA" price tag. There are several domestic military pack manufactures that would be better options with similar, even cheaper price tags. Check out Tactical Taylor for fair domestic pricing, and Mystery Ranch for those of you that can afford it.

The skycrane ll J79 comes with the G1 littlebrother and LP1 fannypack and can carry 4,475ci for $499.00 and is expandable up to 8,475ci. Get your facts straight.
