I'm looking to get another one or two AC outlets from my unit. Powering a sound machine and baby monitor, so very little power needed. I'm thinking either an adapter from DC port, or small power strip into AC port. Would that be safe to do? Any other options for this?
Hi Rick I love your reviews... Biy I noticed you don't say if this is a promotion or if you have bought the device with your own money or if it was provided to you by the manufacturer for review. You also don't say if you get to keep the device after the review as a payment for the review or if you return it after your review is done.
Thanks for the post and I never actually receive any financial compensation for any of my reviews and have made it a practice to avoid that. I sometimes do receive gear for evaluation from companies and mention that in clip if I keep the gear after the review. Most of those products are actually given back to the viewers during our 12 Days of Drone Valley Christmas giveaways we do every year. In other cases we return the gear to the company once we've finished the review. In this case, we're sending it back. The 330 or the 500 would work well for a small fridge. These Power Stations have gotten smaller and more powerful every year and are great for campers and minivans to keep appliances running. Thanks for the post.
Question - can I use any solar panel with these? I want to put one on the roof of my mini-van to power a 12v/45 w fridge. Is the 330 adequate for that?
You can easily install a solar panel on the roof of your camper or minivan to charge the device. There are a ton of them available to do just that and they are easy to mount and connect to the power station. That way you'll always have a fully charged unit when you need it.
The battery chemistry in this Power Station is based on Lithium-Ion and will provide a lot of recharge cycles. If you're looking for one with Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries (newer chemistry) you might want to consider the River 2 - amzn.to/3yagbkV
@@Dronevalley I don't mind lithium ion just want to stay away from lithium Polymer for fear of it catching on fire. I thought you said lithium Polymer in the video. Thanks for the post but I'm confused on your math. The unit sells for about $300 (and they put it on sale often for less) and it provides 330 watts of charging. That works out to be about 80 cents per watt, which is similar to the Jackery unit. I like the Jackery gear as well but this MP330 also provides 3 USB-A QC ports, a USB-C PD 60W port and a Qi wireless charger on the top. In comparison, the Jackery 240 only provides 2 USB-A ports that are not QC and limited to 2.4A each @ 5V, no USB-C ports and no wireless charging either. Which sounds like a better option?
@@Dronevalley Sorry, I'm from Canada. Prices are higher here. I clicked on your link, to me to the page and it stated $687 CDN for this unit. I have bought a few Jackery's at $250 for 240 watts. True though, if you want greater wattage, like 1500 watts, then it's about $1.30/watt
@@andreiter I've tested a ton of all the major companies in the Power Station space and they all work out to about $1/Watt. The real value is in the advanced features like the fast-charging that Ecoflow provides or the higher power USB-C on this unit. That's where these products are heading and it seems like every few weeks there are new innovative things being added to the gear. I have new products from Bluetti, Anker and EcoFlow that I'll be reviewing on the channel this week so be sure to stop back for those.
David, I've done over 500 reviews of various products on this channel and everyone wants something different from these videos. Most folks care more about the details of what makes the product special and different from others and that's what I try and explain in these reviews. How long a light bulb or power drill operates is more of a math problem (Power = Current x Voltage) and hard to show in real time. I hope that helps.
