Considering each loop resulted in his violent death, it likely at least felt like a thousand years, making it relevant for his resistance to torture. As he said previously, "pain is an old friend." The most specific/semi-canonical answer comes from one of the writers, who said, "long enough to gain even more mastery over his powers."

I think I read somewhere that Dr Strange spent a bijillion years in the Dark Dimension to annoy Dormammu so hard that they basically rage-quitted. The problem in this scene is that he didn't set a time-loop, so he can't actually risk to get injured to a specific degree that his mental capacities of taking that pain would run out eventually. So, it's actually serious that he must ensure nobody gets the Time Stone.

Yeah, this scene makes no sense. Guy can exert crazy levels of force telekinetically but strangely he doesn't use it to keep himself from flyout into space which in another odd coincidence kills him faster than it would kill a normal human being. Is there a term for the opposite of plot armor? Because this guy got it.

@@siggyincr7447 Thing is, they already showed before that maw isn't exactly super reactive, when wong and strange redirected his spike barrage he didn't really respond all too well and assumed a car would protect him only for him to nearly get his head popped off, blowing a hole in someones spaceship is downright suicidal so he was completely caught off-guard and thus died from space before he could do anything.

Has anyone noticed that he can't actually fly? He was chasing Strange on a piece of tar and some dirt which obviously was moving telekinetically, which means he cannot fly hence he cannot direct himself unless he is on an object. Plus, he was taken completely by surprise, as he was expecting a fight not a trick, which is what made him be off guard. The vacuum effect did the rest. What I am not sure is if what we see behind Stark at 2:18 is a big glass looking out to space, or a big opening. Because if it is the latter, vacuum shouldn't happen, and they should all be dead. But... hey ho, it's a fantasy movie not a documentary. I mean, they did travel in time after all.

The spider legs. He even said at the beginning the suit is super intuitive which explains why the legs popped out without peter having to do anything to activate them

@@Brandon-vj6zz he just got the suit and didn’t know there was spider legs. When he said “wait, what are those” he was specifically looking at the spider legs and talking about them. The suit itself is intuitive not just based off of his mental commands. Damn just watch the movie or watch the video
