Double kick for the fast stuff! Usually I’m a single kick guy but rolling parts like in this song have to be done with doubles.

Are you using any sound replacement in this video? The C&Cs are cutting here more than in earlier vids. Have you gigged with this kit yet? I'm thinking about picking up a PD II but I want to make sure they project enough for this kind of music. Also, I just got the same ride, soooo fucking fun to play.

No sound replacement here! The only samples used are a room sample for the snare to give it some space (it’s a really small room). Everything else is just EQ and Compression. I love my PD but I’d recommend a Gladstone for anything heavy. This does the job but it takes some fine tuning

@@EliGreenDrums Thanks, man! Sounds great. The Gladstone is kind of out of my budget so if I go with C&C, I'm gonna have to make a PD II work. How exactly do you fine tune them? And have you ever used clear heads on this kit? I hear clear Emperors work great on them.

@@Rehynn clear emperors are great on a PDII if you want a modern sound. These are coated emps on these videos but I’m about to swap back to clear on the next head change so I can get a bit more clarity with less EQ in post. I’ll probably do a video at some stage with how I tune my kit and do my videos but for now - low tuning on the batter side (you’ll be amazed how little tension the PD’s need to make a tone) and medium on the reso’s. I use a tune-bot to fine tune. My 12” is around 150hz top and 180hz bottom and the 16” is around 100/150.

@@EliGreenDrums Much appreciated. Also, that's a great idea for a video - there aren't many resources on C&Cs for more modern styles and I think a lot of people are sleeping on them as a result.
