Hey, I'm Eli! I drum. I make super nerdy videos, tuning guides, shootouts, lessons as well as drum covers and performance videos. I also endorse C&C Drum and Dream Cymbals.
great demo! not sure if anyone aware of this, but to me it doesn't look like a copy of an Emad (Evans) but a hybrid version of their muffling ring with a foam you'd out put beneath the head (the white one) but in the front. glad they did the 16" version too!
Bro, I'm listening and watching this on my JBL surround sound, and this drum kit sounds amazing, and I mean everything & that snare is superb.. you made a good choice
It’s a 14x7 3mm oversized cast bronze snare made by Cusworth Drums. Declan White who mixed the audio here is the guy who built it. HIGHLY recommend if you’re after that iconic Tama bell bass sound.
Sounds great... agree with you on lacquer v wrap finish....I see so many beautiful lacquer kits, but to me there like fine furniture, very fragile...a beaten up lacquer finish kit to me doesn’t look great....
Congrats bruv. Glad you posted this as well because finding technical C&C info content can be tough. Oddly specific question, have you had opportunities to play on 12th & Vine kits? And if so, what made you go Gladstone over 12th & Vine?
Thanks mate! I agree, there’s not a tonne of specific info videos out there. I’ve used the 12th and Vine a couple of times. They’re a little more mellow than the Gladstone, which are a little more straight up rock and roll. But both very versatile and great sounding kits. The maple 6+6’s are also awesome in this sort of vein.
This kit sounds great and definitely fits the sound you were going for. The black and white makes me think tuxedo but like a bad ass tuxedo.... So call it Bruce Wayne.
Thanks mate! I’ve been an artist with Dream for like a decade now, so yeah, I rate them! Haha. They’re awesome cymbals. Huge range, amazing sound quality and better priced than most other companies. Big fan of
Dude, that's a killer kit. I love the style of the pinstripe too. How about Betsy for the kit name? 😂 that snare is sweet too. I was thinking while watching, "what the hell is that snare" it's very nice. Congrats 🤘😎🤘
This snare soudn awesome Eli. Can u please tell us, more detail such as: 1. Snare Head 2. Mic ( as i c it is a sm57 right) or have u use any other mics to? 3. Reso Head 4. and what u did in Processing ( Gate, Compressor, or what else?)+ Thanks a lot in Advance
Powersonic was the worst kick drum head I’ve ever used. Currently using the SMT clear on my Starclassic Maple. Sounds ok. Not a game changer for me. Powerstoke 3 or 4 still in lead for my preference.
You’re not wrong but I call it a full turn because that’s the full rotation of my wrist. It’s a repeatable movement that a lot of drummers refer to that as a full turn, even though it’s obviously 180°
I commented couple of days ago on Deftones video, I wanted this sound for 25 years and finally got myself some money to get it, I bought 30 ply for vents 6.5x14 OCDP snare from Japan, probably made in 2009, last batches of real OCDP. I LOVE IT. I have it on my channel.
Pearl Masters Retrospec. It’s just black, not black nickel. But it is gorgeous and sounds massive. I just bought a new C&C kit with black nickel hardware. Video coming soon!
I do similar thing on my channel, I try to get the sound close but not this in depth, I try to dress like drummer and sometimes make video look like their video haha, I love the channel bro
Love it! I like those little nods and references! I snuck a little Easter egg in to the misery business cover for the same reason. No ones noticed it yet!
