For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ru-vid.comUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
I’m pretty sure the earth tilted when I watched this. No one, including the hardware owner I just asked, explained loading the string like this. Earthquake in the Midwest today! Thanks for sharing!
Good video. I bought the replacement head, threw away the instruction paperwork on how to restring the line. When I ran out of the original line, I didn't have a clue how to install replacement line. The replacement head ,restrings differently that the original head. Your video was a big help to me. Thanks!
Thank you for this video. I wasn't going back opposite once I placed string into the starting grooves....I have thrown my trimmer at least twice and swore it was a piece. Now I confirm it was user error and I should thrown myself. Thanks
LOL I've just discovered that I've been winding line on lawn trimmers of all types incorrectly all along! I've always cut it into two equal lengths before winding them separately, but as another person has said, this is _much_ easier! Thank you!
I've watched so many videos and haven't seen it explained like this. Thank you! I've had it for years and have tried so many ways without finding a good one.
Thanks! My 2001 SR210 is still going strong. Just ordered a new spool, it's nothing like the original but it's identical to the one in your video so this was very helpful.
You forgot to mention that the eyelets are at different heights to match the stacked spools. One has to be sure to feed the upper string through the upper eyelet. If they are crossed, the line won't feed. Good video, though, I now know what the slots are for in the spools. They make feeding through the eyelets a breeze!
My spool is a bit different and has been a pain in the ass since I have owned it 15 years or so, this video hepled a great deal and I thank you for your time and effort. Take care
Nice job, thanks for sharing. This head is the same one I have on my Echo SRM-230 and the instruction manual (useless) shows them re-stringging a *different* one.
Thank you so much for this video! My wife and I borrowed my dad's weedwacker (echo srm 210) today without any idea how to restring it. We just so happened to go to ace hardware and got that very same thread before googling how to figure it out. You saved the day :)
I was given a SRM-210 sn 05076124. Stuck a new OEM ZAMA carb on it, and it started on the 2nd pull. Weedeated my yard for about 20 min and it worked perfect. Then i took the spool off to replace the line. No big deal i thought. My spool only has one section to wind the string into. Not like the video's, with an extra section. Its Similiar to my STHIL weed eater. It is not feeding properly. Stringing in the proper direction on the spool. This model has 5 different user manuals, and there was a recall on the fuel line setup. But its running fine until i tried to restring it.
I had my SRM 210 for about 10 years. It don't matter how I wind the line, it works fine for a few "bumps", then it won't feed. I take the head off and the line is "Jammed" in the rest of the line in the spool. I unwind it and fix it, and it happens again. Have no idea why the line is "jamming" in the line on the spool. Tried leaving it more loose, and more tight, nothing works. Worst trimmer head I ever had on a trimmer.
