This game is like playing Mario as Princess Peach. Most people - if given a choice - will choose to play as Link. Playing as Zelda is neat, but the novelty quickly wears off. I miss my boy Link.
This is incredible! I can already see in a few days someone posting something like "can you finish Echoes of the Wisdom as Link?". I hope the answer is yes. And hope this glitch isn't patched
You mean Link the ability to summon objects out of thin air as well as use his normal abilities? That's preposterous! Next you'll want him to be able to fuse those summoned objects together to form some kind of war machine!
@@richardmahn7589 Fans will spend years arguing if *this* time Link and Link are love interests, only for observant fans to note that this game actually implies that Stamp Guy is Link's love interest this game.
Signs basically are the BDSP’s menu glitch. It isn’t just a wrong-warper, it teleports you ANYWHERE. Also, it resembles the back in time glitch in WW, TP, and SS.
Actually, this glitch looks closer to Skyward Sword’s back in time glitch, with the use of a save-corruption exploit with the bird statues in the game.
@@ghb323 Pretty much. Your save is set to the intro, but your location is bugged. So, if you can get this to work in the final rift, you might be able to make it to the final boss as Link
@@DarkLink1996.BROO that would be sooo cool!!!!! I’m just waiting for someone to do it. I would love to play the final boss as link. That boss battle was so underwhelming. Sub par as fuck
I don’t know how people figure these things out, they’re probably like “Huh, I wonder if I make another game and save as soon as I start because I don’t feel like playing anymore, then on my old game I want to know what happens if I stand on this exact spot and press buttons over and over again?”
Considering that "swordfighter mode" basically has all of Link's abilities (and then some, the playable link did not have sword beams at full hearts), this isn't really needed to duplicate Link functionality.
Tbh, with how fleshed out Link was in the intro, I was a little convinced that there would be a truncated post game where you play a short little story as Link leading up to Zelda's rescue.
@@sinteleon Yeah, that's eventually what I came to as well, but a short story similar to Olimars Tale in Pikmin 4 would've been cool. Maybe DLC? Though it doesn't feel like they'd do DLC for this title.
Heres some info i gathered on the glitch: For anyone having trouble, leave around half a second - 1 second between your up input and A press) Interacting with a nearby waypoint did unlock it after it triggered the first event, and you can unlock more. I also managed to unlock the log and map, by making my way to the Zora area and triggering the main quest dialogue, which unlocked the log and the map (you cant see unlocked parts of the map, but you can warp using it). Opened a chest with rupees inside and that allowed me to collect overworld rupees, but Ihaven't found a way to access the inventory yet. Will update with more info as I test. 👍
I haven't tested this theory yet but if anyone is doing this for the first time, I have a feeling that by using a save during the Ganon fight, you can play as link cloakless
If it wasn’t specifically for the things you needed to Bind with no other way of removing them and the gaps you need to get over you could beat the entire game
The makers of TLoZ are not known for making a post-game, but it would have been amazing if they let you free-roam after you've beaten the BBEG and they give you the Swordfighter mode again... But this time, it's Link swapping place with Zelda.
More then likely this will get the Tears of the Kingdom treatment. Only difference unlike in that game this one could mess up your save if they patch it since it isn't just transferring a weapon from the intro.
to be fair, Zelda is a lot stronger than him in this game. All the utility for echoes makes her seriously like a competition for Ganon when it comes to being a wizard.
Thats debatable, without tri none of the echoes would be possible. Plus, which link and arsenal? BOTW link, TOTK link with ultrahand creating mechanical contraptions. Lots of variables. It sure would produce a very fun “boss rush” mode for link to fight zelda
What it seems to have happened was that you overwrote the save data with the link save data and I think that is a map that isn't normally accessable. I have a feeling on the link map that there are no rifts at all.
@@fallenledechuThat's when you collect one in the overworld, what happends when you pick up 4 from shops? Or what happends when you transfer 100% zelda to a new game save file, what happends when you get 4 heart pieces then?
@@mariorockysonicmegasochjag Probably nothing too at least the one on Suthorn village didn't do anything... But you Can enter rifts without the Tri rod.. From what I see from a New game : You can't explore Hebra Mountain, Eldin Volcano, Faron Wetland, Quest may be bugged (Tohna of Gerudo Town don't awake After defeating the Monsters) All rifts are closed but act as open, Link doesn't have a falling sound like Zelda...
Honestly, this should have been an unlockable feature after beating the game anyway. Could have been another way to get some extra replay value out of it! But as usual, Nintendo is so set in their ways & can't think past their own noses.
Been messing with this and found so much interesting stuff. You cant sccess the map right off the bat but if you acquire a quest it lets u open ut and use fast travel. Getting 4 pieces of heart seems to reset ur hearts back to 3 until u reload. You can only find hearts as drops. You can use horses by jumping directly onto them. Going near the first warp will cause a softlock thst wont let you unlock it but i found a rlly annoying wirk around. The game acts as if rifts are there wheb they arent at times. Currently ive unlocked the first quest and im trying to see how far i can get. Also psa. Trying thr dojo crashes the game
Additionally ive found thst buying a potion adds a permanent drinkable section to ur menu. I'm hoping that by the same logic I'll be able to use accessories
@@alyoalyoalyo from what I've seen so far youre the first one to discover this. When i found out about pause storage I thought smth like this might be possible with loading two saves at once or smth but i didn't have the patience to try it so props to you. Hoping that this video gets more seen in the community and that all this info is recognized
There are better spots to do this in around the Lost woods. Some of the big trees void you out at the very top so you can place a sign at the very top and do the glitch at the same time
I think this is Nintendo's queue to make a sequel to this game for Switch 2 where you can legitimately and officially explore this Hyrule as Link. I already have ideas for what the sequel should be like. Where you can have a party of characters to choose from. Link and Zelda being main but you can play as other character(s). And there can even be a co-op mode where players can join in as any of the characters that player 1 isn't playing as. Then we can finally have multiplayer capable Zelda done right!
I really wonder about the different interactions, like can link swim? Is there any dungeon he can possibly complete? He may not have the tri rod, but with higher jump and bombs, I feel you can make decent progress somewhere.
He can swim, he kinda wades in water with his shield and sword lol and yeah it'd be cool to check out other dungeons and things, I know for the first one I got up to the boulder you had to bind with to get rid of, and since bind wasn't possible it was a no go. :') But I'll have to keep playing around with other possibilities!
@@alyoalyoalyo I've been experimenting and finding out lots of stuff. U can bypass that first rock by using a bombchu to hit a switch. Next rock is still in the way tho
People have been begging to be able to play as Princess Zelda for decades, so what do people do as soon as soon as that wish was granted? Someone finds a way to glitch and play as Link. 👏
@@stevenedwards8353 I don't agree with Zelda's playstyle sucking. I rather enjoy the summoning style. What's to blame for her not always swing a sword around herself is most likely due to Japanese sexism. There are many Japanese anime that involve female swordswomen, but for some reason the developers thought that the only way Zelda could be Zelda, a girl, would be if she's portrayed as being physically weaker than Link and incapable of wielding a sword on her own without his spirit/power guiding her. How many people would feel different about Princess Zelda if she was given a sword or some other fast melee weapon of her own to use? Those who would still hate Princess Zelda as the main character at that point are just sexist, thinking that only a big strong man can represent them in Hyrule.
You should jeep playing through the game as link to see how far you can get. I am also curious what certain cutscenes will play out like where link is supposed to be in them (will there be two links or will one link just disappear?).
What’s cool about this glitch is that you can just save once your link and come back to it ANYTIME. Just don’t complete a quest or you will change back to Zelda without her tri rod. Oh and don’t go into the castle. Impa and the king will glitch your shit 😂
Most glitches involve doing two things at once that override each other. By triggering the white void-out and a dialogue box from the sign causes the player to open a menu during a cutscene which that isn’t supposed to happen.
@@ghb323Ok, I get that, but now how do they know to look for that? Granted, plenty of games in the past had similar glitches but I wonder what's the history behind a "dialogue box and menu glitch"? Who discovered that first? How did they find it?
I love this game, really enjoy playing it. If get 9/10, had the player been allowed to play as either depending on the mission would have made it a 10/10. Way better than i anticipated though.
Im curious if we can beat the game as zelda- then use this glitch to get link That way link can be used and dungeons aint softlocked due to not having zelda abilities
Bruh people can't enjoy the game and stop the game is pretty well made it's a bug it happens you should try make a game like that in 2 years without bugs
The biggest issue is turning back to Zelda. I could see fans trying this glitch, and then realizing they screwed up their save because they're stuck as Zelda. Then they'll complain to Nintendo to undo this glitch!
Here's a tip for them: Just start a new game! Since you have to start a new game for the glitch and don't have to go far for it to work. Or load a save before trying out the glitch.
Zelda Games Suck Balls These Times ... Botw trash totk Super trash now WE Got Zelda Echoes of wixxxdom trash Game whhhhyyyyy do they do this to Zelda Fans !!! The ruin everything!!!
